There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

The size of lion can vary depending on how well they're eating, age and their overall health at the time but in general Hairy Belly was a tank of  lion. The size of his shoulders and front legs are massive. He looks so powerful in his prime.

Throwback; A legendary lion, favored by me and by many, rare with hair on his belly which is the rarest in the wild, so huge, it was able to dominate for a long time in Sabi Sands and spread his line as well. It was very interesting to follow his life and his updates that we miss now. He is the well known Hairy Belly Matimba.

Nkorho Bush Lodge, South Africa.

The matimbas were such huge lions. Whenever you see a recent picture of a lion from their bloodline they're massive as well.
