I'm trying to figure out if this is accidental information on here, because if it is not, holy cow. (estimated though) she does not look this big, wonder who estimated her? I have emailed them to see if they actually got a weight on her.

I highly doubt this to be accurate at all, her weight could be anywhere from 95kg-180kg. But to think it was true, my goodness what a lioness. [img]images/smilies/wink.gif[/img]

P.S. your kinda doing what I'm doing, I posted the lioness was said to be around 500 pounds then you reply with two tigresses with no proof other than an email that said "female Siberian tigers weight is around 500 pounds" it sounds like it wasn't even talking about that certain tigress. You posted that estimate then say we don't accept them, however you posted yours and I assume you believe it? Why is my estimates less believable than yours?

Of course im asking in a polite manner, not trying to be mean or anything, just stating what I'm feeling.

These cats all look extremely obese and unhealthy.

Baikai, in my opinion, is the true king of the cats in the captivity.

Back then, he looked even bigger with huge front quarter and being extremely athletic for his size.

He is basically the modern reincarnation of the Great Ngandong tiger with the fluffy coat of an Amur tiger.

This is another tiger named Baikal, and he weighs only about 450 pounds, roughly the half size of the Baikal above.

Wow, Imagined him bigger than that. The one you posted is he siberian or bengal?

He is a purebred Amur, he weighed 850 pounds at the age of 12 and probably weighed about 900 pounds during his prime.

Yeah, he is freak and being comparable to the largest Panthera cat in the history, but i think there should have some non-obese freak lions as well.

Seeing the lions in these videos makes me question the effect of neutering on their weights and on the weights of just about all of these FREAK specimens.

The neutered specimens would appear to be extremely fat, while Baikal is not only fit and muscular, but he has also fathered several cubs.

I've seen some huge captive male lions with mane, they are definitely not neutered specimens.

Yeah, wonder which would be able to compare like your Amur, not exactly in size im sure but fitness despite huge weight. Lions seem to have the belly fold a lot and sometimes makes them look obese.

That neutered male lion is not really fat, and he does look like a large prehistoric cave lion with its maneless appearance.

Here is one of the largest cave lion specimens, and it was discovered in the western Russia, he should weigh about 750-800 pounds.

I think the modern captive lions such as Simba and Rutledge are about his size.

Maneless males do resemble the prehistoric big cat cave lion. They look their best when they don't have the belly fold.

Certain ligers and tigons remind me of some of prehistoric cats, smilodon, cave lion, ect. with their little manes.

Baikal is a purebred Amur Tiger.
Baikal was so heavy because his dimensions were prehistoric.
He is 4 feet tall and Head-Body length is 240cm.

Here is a dead wild Corbett male tiger.
Eventhough this tiger looks to be in a slightly bloated stage, he is a very massive specimen.

You do yourself a more harm than good when quoting these "guesses".
If we still went off "estimates" than Siberian Tigers would average 300kg and 400kg tigers would not be unheard of. But of course, we know better now, because we use actual fact, weights, measurements and data. So while you can use all the estimated weights you would like, none of them will be used in actual scientific records when, let's say: finding the largest captive lioness or average captive weight, etc...
People make absurd estimates all the time, especially in the older days.
