I don't know if its the photo angle or something else, but Mangu looks in trouble. He looks to have lost significant weight and also looking battered at the same time. Mr. X is on a roll lately and Mangu sure has his work cut out.

I would love to hear good news of him but he wasn't sighted for years like @Rage2277 said i don't know why he should leave his area he was a dominant male with females and cubs and was in great shape. The same happened with his son jaychand who was a really big cat already bigger than some prime males and jaychand wasn't even in his prime he was 3-4 years old and vanished out of nowhere. Just like some famous tigers like sundari from Ranthambore and others ...

They really don't get any better looking than Mahaman

Mother’s love and nature’s calling | A record image made on Cybershot. A powerful memory nonetheless | Tadoba | Winter 2018-19.

While Chota Matka, the amorous three year-old male tiger entered Maya’s domain and finally the sanctum sanctorum, Pandharpauni, there was palpable tension in the air. Male tigers can be ruthless killers on their way to dominance and Maya, the experienced matriarch that she is, knew about the great perils that lay ahead! As she sensed the male’s presence in Pandharpauni, the cubs were safely hidden in one of her secret spots behind P2 and she came back to defend, to fight, to make a point! It was a full blown fight that ensued and lasted around 30 seconds (which can be potentially fatal in the tiger world), something that i had witnessed all but thrice in these years! The ground shook, the trees trembled and the scores of deer and langur that inhabit Pandharpauni all year round ran into oblivion. It was a moment of great proportions for us to see a 150 kg mother fight a 230 kg male tiger in his prime! She fought so valiantly that the male had to concede defeat that morning! We breathed a sigh of relief, the deer came back hesitantly and peace reigned once again in the hallowed battleground of Pandharpauni. My love and respect for Maya grew even more that morning! This is for you guys Andrea, Susanna and Ricardo, and thank you Roser!
(How to differentiate between a play fight and a fight meant to kill: Look at the claws! They are otherwise safely enclosed in the sheath and released only during the most special of occasions.)

Next in line | Pench | Winter 2018-19.

For eight seasons in this pretty little forest, which inspired the legendary Kipling to pen his life’s greatest work, a male tiger called Raiyakassa ruled. His reign was so complete and his hold over the land so watertight, that rival males refused to enter his fabled kingdom, one that passed over hills and vales and encompassed beautiful ponds and lakes and an enchanting river, the Pench. But, all good things have to pass and make way for newer, more vigorous ones. Late last season, we heard reports about skirmishes between Raiyakassa and a ‘New Male’. The ‘New Male’ became almost a myth, seldom seen but always present, slowly and steadily inching towards ultimate domination of this most coveted of forest lands. The monsoon, like they have on countless occasions before, finally swang the pendulum the New Male’s way. Raiyakassa was spotted far away in the Sillari zone and the New Male was the emerging ruler of a land that is always the most prized!
Over the last many years, on several winter dawns and summer dusks, i’ve seen Raiyakassa come out from behind Bijamatta and cross the bridge from the exact same spot. The baton has passed well and truly. Touria shall always have a powerful ruler, for only the strongest cross the gargantuan Kalapahad!

It was an absolute pleasure to see this huge boy on the morning of the 1st of January (2019's first tiger!)

Daughter of the legendary Wagdoh and Kori female, a tigress known as "JHARNI", aptly named after the region she was seen regularly first in the Alizanza buffer zone .

looks like Matkasur is under a lot of pressure from the young bloods, if everything goes accordingly. he should be able to take out both the Shivanjhari sub adult and Chota Matka. tough times for sure, I still think he has a lot of potential given his extensive history of dominance. the only notable defeat he had was against Bajrang when Bajrang visited Choti Tara’s area.

also fair to say, Jharni is the biggest tigress in all of Tadoba and it’s no surprise, Wagdoh male was the biggest male in his prime and Kori aka Wagdoh tigress was perhaps one of the biggest female. the offsprings they produced are now the biggest in Tadoba. Shiva is Jharni’s brother.

the King of Tadoba, grew up in Southern Kolsa. he spent most of his childhood in Kolsa, then as he grew up. he made the move from Kolsa to Moharli, Teliya, Khutvanda, Khatoda gate, Agarzari buffer, Dewada Buffer, Junona buffer, Coal mines, Padmapur buffer, Chorgaon village, Mamla buffer and Adegaon buffer, sired over 35 cubs with 10 different females. with the exception of a selected few areas. Wagdoh has ruled almost every area of the park and is still going strong. many speculations, many rumors of him being dead and here he is now. at 16-17 years of age. one of the most legendary tiger from the MH side, Bajrang is also following in his footsteps. these two combined have sired over 70 cubs in Tadoba, that’s nothing short of incredible. not many males have achieved this. these are exceptional male tigers, the mightiest of their kind.
