Comparing Bheem to Umarpani...
  • bitter147
Fantastic. Just had the good fortune of photographing Bheema from Bandhavgarh. He is of comparable size....
  • jitendergovindani
@bitter147 yes someone very close in size to Umarpani

This photographer has seen both Bheem and Umarpani crossing the road infront of him as well, he's definitely one of the Lucky ones who can compare both.
His Photo of Bheem

I was told he was even bigger than Umarpani by a Norwegian photagrapher who had seen both. So he must be big for sure!

I don't doubt it, Mangu, Bheem and Pannalal, Mamu and Mr. X in the 2nd tier and a few good looking youngsters up and coming and many new cubs running around....
Bandhavgarh's genes are in good hands.

For me it looks like Uma has a bigger head and might be a little longr, but Bheem looks more muscular and stocky.
I really like looks of these two males. They look mean and that appeals to me in cats.
Like Bheema and Kingfisher looked ”nice” a docile in comparison and it might be some truths in that, as we know what happens when they meet Uma. Tadoba tigers too although they might be smaller they look mean as hell.

But Bheem starts to be a big personal favorite. I don't know much about him, but his looks and size is definitely something that I have taken notice too after hearing what that photographer said about him, I have always underestimated the size of Bandhavgarh tigers as I felt Bamera was a little smaller than first anticipated when I saw him. Bheem was apparently comfortably bigger I was to listen to this photographer who seemed very knowledgeable and had seen Bamera too.
I really wish I could find him on a social media I meet him while birding at Jæren, and he showed me photos from many tigers, leopards and lions he had photographed on his phone. He was a German fella (I think?) and I just can't remember his name probably a long shot, but if anyone knows who I might be talking about I would love to know who he is...haha.

I had a friend tell me that the largest Tigers he's seen are in Bandhavgarh and he's been in most c. Indian parks, Kanha included.

Yes he said the same. And after seeing some of these new males I must say i’m impressed and wouldn’t be surprised if true.

I'd say that CM is the smallest of the 4 mentioned but all are/were good sized male Tigers.
I'd give Kanha and Bandhavgarh the top spot for the largest number of Big Male Tigers in C. India at the moment.
CM is in the Back and Umarpani in the front here...

In weight:
1) Bheema
2) Kingfisher
3) Umarpani
4) Chota Munna

But Uma have the best and most impressive build out of the four. large head, neck, muscular all over, long and tall. Killed the slightly larger males too.

In size maybe, but weight!
Isn't Bheem kinda leaner than Kingfisher & Umarpani?

Most people I've talked too said he was the biggest at the time everyone of them was alive, KF was a cattle lifter and was always full so that is probably why KF was heavier.
But I don't know everyone looks big and it's hard to say without offical weights on all.

Shaurya Vardhan Singh Atishay Singhai yes both have a cut on the nose, but Bheem's is a bigger one and much more prominent than Mangu's. Up to the extent that Bheem's face looks slightly deformed due to that but nothing like this with Mangu.
