Just touching adulthood this guy is bigger than most males his age.It will be interesting to observe wether he challenges the other big players of kanha or prefers to make the buffers his home.

been pondering it for a while now..when i first saw the family together didn't think the cubs looked much like uma save for the dark amber eyes which kf also has..but because he was hanging around i figured eh they just look more like the mother which they do..though in the face, especially the daughter i saw alot of kf

Sarosh Lodhi‎

The chances of not being able to photograph this tiger weighed high as we backed our vehicle, since it suddenly appeared from nowhere from around a turn, without taking one single shot. We backed it far, to let the hunk walk towards us as we kept rolling our vehicle. It was a win win situation, the tiger remained comfortable cause of the space we had given him, we didn't make any brisk movements, and we created this opportunity of clicking the subject in the backdrop of lush green sal trees of Kanha, making this sighting really special for us.

the Shivanjari male cub vs Bajrang at Telia lake

Bajrang was seen recently fighting with a male tiger at Telia Lake, on Oct 19,2018. many believed that the other male was Rocket, one of the male cub from Sonam's previous litter, who has been hanging around with the cubs from the current litter. But this was different male tiger, one not so closely related to this family.

On the morning of Oct 19, Sonam was bringing her cubs from Pajar to Telia Lake. When the family encountered this new male , the cubs fled in different directions, while Sonam stood ground, probably to protect the cubs. Fortunately , Bajrang happened to reach Telia lake at the same time, coming from Kosba line. On seeing the other male, Bajrang swam across the lake and fight ensued.

The other male turns out to be one of the male cubs of Shivanjhari, from her previous litter of 4. Being young and inexperienced, it is no wonder that he was not able to match up to Bajrang. But had Bajrang not showed up at the right time, Sonam's new cubs would have been in danger.

amazing how Bajrang intercepted him, swam across the lake and made it just in time to start the fight. I heard this sub adult male was slashed in the face and shoulders. hopefully he gets the message and leaves the area for good.
