There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.
The Matimba males... old but moving into the void left by the Majingilane coalition. It is going to be interesting to watch this unfold and for how long..

Night drive! Night drive photography can be a lot of fun, and deliver some great results when it works. Many people use flash after dark, which has its virtues, but using the spotlight only often delivers great results and a much warmer light than the cold blue of the flash.
On this occasion we found a Lioness of the Othawa pride up on a rock on the bank of the Sand River. Soon she got up and crossed the river, and we knew that the two males known as the Matimbas were following her, and we got into position to see them cross the river.... Wait the whole pride was with the matimbas, did they accept the Ottawa male and the cubs then? Just a question.

Only the one lioness. They would kill the cubs, because they haven't mated with the other adult lioness, they probably don't even know her, and they would at the very least chase away the young male and his sister.
