"For sure" is a strong word considering no one knows when they were born.
Like Abomai and Potato said, their estimate age is of 12 to 13 years old. You need to remember they were younger than the Majingilane males.
they are 4-5 months younger then majins...and majins era already gone....majins was 14 when they die...so by defaults this males are 14...but they are alive more then majins...i guess they are 15 now...?

It's an estimation, that's true, but based on when the Matimba males showed up in the Sabi sands, coming from the north.
The Majingilane had been dominant for about a year(maybe more) when the Matimba males started showing their presence. The older male called Nduna was probably of the same age of the Majingilane, but the rest were younger, you can see that kind of physical tells.

In the north no idea, 4 ended up staying in the north while the remaninig two, Hairy belly and Ginger, stayed in the northern sabi sands when the Majingilane stopped patrolling there.

you are too sure of many things. lions do leave females and territory behind when they expand. they can't take care of everything...some things get left behind.

The Birmingham males did the exact same bloody thing this year, which only furthers my point.
They left two prides behind, didn't give much of a damn because what they were after was worth more for them.
They were never defeated by the Avoca young males either, so your point gets lost.

Wrong. That's a falsehood that observation of well known coalitions shows as such.
Not only lions do that, the Matimba males themselves "left their females" and also "didn't fight to the death", but they also use it as a clear stretegy when either things don't go their way or they realize they can get a better deal somewhere else.
Ginger and HB are not ordinary lions....they play this shadow game 2 years now.they follow the females when they need and they left them when it's time.they have nothing to prove more they are just old guys to a hard area.they are 13,5 years which is unusual for any wild lion especially for them after many territorial battles and heavy injuries.i think locals there help them and they do the right think.modern lions have other mote peaceful strategies,hb and ginger belong to matimbas period and they are the connection between 2 difrent periods.LONG LIVE THE KI GS!!
