I hope these guys stay around long enough to see their cubs reach sub adult. Especially the little white cub
They haven't any white Cubs, the white cub belong to Birmingham lions. Matimbas share 2 Male Cubs and one female all the regular lions look!!
We would like to introduce you to the newest members of the Othawa pride. First time mom had 3 cubsabout 7 weeks ago and we finally get to spend some time with them. Their father is from the Matimba coalition. May they grow big and strong! Credit: Dulini Lodge, December 12, 2018

Got it mixed up. They sired the Othawa cubs. Lets hope they can grow. These old guys need to stick around!! Sassy's cubs ((the Matimba's)) would be about 8 months old then and would still need more time ....... there are a lot of layers before another coalition gets to the west but the 'weak spot' seems to be some young coalition coming from the south then going west .......... The Tsalala's make me a little nervous ...... but by layers I mean: the N Avoca males, S Avoca males, Mhangeni Pride + cubs, Othawa male, BB's, Nkuhuma pride, Styx pride, Ntsevu pride, Southern pride .... there are many moving parts .......... Also, the Sand River, Nkuhuma & Styx pride have all done a pretty good job of raising cubs without a male to protect them all the time so I think the Othawas could as well ... they showed some strategy when the Matimbas came around ... the next year or so should be pretty exciting ... I hope they can do it especially for the young female cub because the Othawas need another young female in the pride ... just my two pence on how I see it |
