There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Sand River King!

As the sun rose, the huge boulders become warm and sitting on them becomes unbearable, the King came down following his Queen whilst on their honeymoon.

Photographed in the Maasai Mara Game reserve, Kenya.

Interesting info.

I found that site last year I believe, but I stopped visiting it because most of the info seemed outdated. It's nice to see they are keeping it updated now.

We found who was making all that roaring. Let us introduce you to Lipstick and Blackie. Our guide John is over the moon to see them as its been a long time since they've been here. They're not far from where we saw the lost cub and Mohican and must be on the edge of their territory. The good news for Romeo and the rest of the pride is that they are now between the pride and the intruders and they are heading towards the intruders, scent marking and roaring loudly. These are not the slightly tentative roars we heard earlier when all the lions were unsure of themselves. These lions are completely confidant and they are running towards where the intruders disappeared into the forest edge. Apparently they are not going to tolerate strange males in their territory. The tables have suddenly turned yet again!

The intruders are running from Blackie and Lipstick! And away from Romeo and Mohican's pride!

Amazing story! Turns out Lipstick and Blackie unknowingly saved Romeo and Mohican Great stuff!
I have to say that Lipstick and Blackie are looking awesome by the day! Thought they were around for a long time already but they look amazing.

From Anita's Photography Blog
Day 1, Masai Mara, Kenya.  The first shot I shared of Scar was his good side.  I thought I'd share the side with his damaged eye. They said he can see out of his bad eye.  If you look really close, it appears there is an iris with a pupil.  It's small towards the bottom of the eye area.   He is around 12 years old and in a coalition of 4.
