There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

There are new Kings in Naboisho! There are 4 amazing males who have taken over the core of the conservancy! These new rulers are the grandsons of the famous lion Notch from BBC Big Cat Diary. Our guests are being treated to amazing sightngs on nearly a daily basis, and last night, their roaring woke the whole camp up around 4 am!

Day 2 on the Maasai Mara. Early rise at 5.30 and a really good drive with leopard climbing a tree, a large herd of elephants, and this guy.
Location: Maasai Mara, Kenya

Getting a good head on shot of an approaching male lion has been on my wish list for some time now, and this is a step in the right direction. The grass is a bit annoying, the angle could be lower (I was getting down as far as possible in the jeep for this one) and the light could have fallen straight on his face, but other than that I think this is a decent attempt

Apparently he's still limping, but that doesn't seem to stop him a bit.

Although there are no visible wounds that I could see, Scar's hind leg was causing him a lot of pain and hindering his movements.

Determined to carry on walking regardless of his pain, his magnificence and power could not be diminished.

A new Lion in the Marsh (Musiara Swamp)
This morning we were searching the four Musketeers in the Marsh. We saw them a few days ago close to main crossing. We could not find them. For this we saw this magnificent lion. He was very shy the two lionesses towards. One wanted to mate, but he did not dare. It could be that he comes from Mara North.
The Marsh is dry and there are at moment not many animals.
At lunchtime we saw a big crossing.

If I were a die-hard lion enthusiast, post #290 would probably be my profile picture. A perfect camera shot.

Rekero Camp:
We had an amazing morning with the 4 musketeers patrolling the Savannah only 2 km west of Rekero...they later found a nice bedroom 1 km away from our camp....A special treat indeed since its not easy to spot all 4 together..Maybe they might try and take over a new pride(Rongai or Olkiombo)..maybe.....photo credits onesmus
