There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Africa Photography by Corlette Wessels:

You have not gone to Mara enough times if you haven’t met this tough Lion. His name is Scarface. On my last trip, i was not as lucky as last year Oct to see him.

Scar is the dominant male of the 4 musketeers and as many strong dominant lions, he is always going alone for many days at a time, sometimes trying to expand his territory or to defend the ones he has already conquered. With his 3 brothers miles away, It could explain why he was a lone during this fight. But that said, he is still one of the baddest in Masai Mara, wounded or not. A True Legend of the Mara.

Beautiful Blackie. Credits to Penny Robartes - Wildlife Photographer.
He is fierce.
He is raw power.
With feral eyes ablaze, he is nothing short of sublime.

His trade is decisions, ears or no ears.

You sure know how to find them, Majingilane. Another great photograph.

Here is a closer look at the lion that might be Long Face.  There is another cub the same size as this one.  There is a cub a few months older that one of the little cubs always plays with.  Do you think this is Long Face.  I was staying at the Entim Camp when this was taken; although we did a lot of driving so I don't know how far we were from camp.
