That is correct bro but Crooked Tail is also usually skinny, he just in slighty better condition and has more confidence than those two.

To be honest it's kind of sad, Smudge and Snip Tail are capable lions but their other brothers are usually in bad condition which slows the rest of the coalition down. It'll be hard for them to take over more territory if Pale and Dreadlocks don't improve their confidence.

Terrible to see him like this, especially given that he was the only one who, in that incident, stood up to the two SAs, he thought he had six others to come help him. Did he, at some point after that, lose his tail?

Yeah the Southern Avoca's really beat him down, how did Dreadlocks DeLaporte and Nkuhlu #4 die again?

As far as I know, it is unknown, exactly, how either of them died, they just simply disappeared. It is thought that Dreadlocks Delaporte eventually passed of his injuries received from the SAs, as it wasn't too awful long after that, that he disappeared. Following that beating, he was never seen in good condition, again.

Nkuhlu males were fairly young at that time, and it was likely Dreadlock DeLaporte also tried to run but wasn't as fast. More likely that he really didn't make some kind of stand and hoped for backup, he was just unlucky to be caught as for not being fast enough to flee like his younger counterparts. Under the circumstances, he fought as hard as he could, and manage to survive for months althought never being the same lion again. DeLaporte male was trully a resilient lion. Very smart teaming with unrelated males and forming big coalitions in more than one occasion. Living a somewhat long lion life althought the odds would be against a 'solitary' male.
He lived till atleast mid 2024, so thats atleast more than 6-7 months after the beating.

And no, he didn't lose his tail, but in that angle it looks really weird indeed lol.

As @BA0701 says, impossible to know. They could even be alive out there in the depths of Kruger like it happened with other males.
But taking into account the area they roamed isn't as unpopular as those like Mantimahle or Mangheni, who vanished and reappered, it does seem unlikely to be a similar case.

Them both were not in the best conditions, amidst the circumstances it seems clear that neither of them is alive, even more so since they did not disappear together, but months apart since Nkuhlu #4 still appeared from time to time with his brothers.
Regardless of anything, rangers and guides that are at Nkuhlu territory already count both of them out and everything points for the demise of the males.

Smudge Nkuhlu last week when he was getting chased by the Gijima males at Kirkman's Kamp, he got outnumbered on the other side of the river as his brothers fleed

"Looking so mean until the fight gets a little too real and the other boys out numbered him!
A male lion territory battle is a lot like tug-o-war with a lot of roaring and a little bit of faking-it-till- you make it!"

@Ngonya, @Tr1x24 and myself, were just discussing moving this most recent post by @FACR2212 into the Lion Tales thread, as that thread was created for just such a post. However, it got me wondering about updates on the SRP, and since you are fully plugged into the goings on with them and their pride males, I thought I would ask you. Do you believe that the SRP is getting frequent enough updates, to justify their getting their own thread? If not, that is fine, and understandable, as we have, historically, not received regular updates on them, until recently of course.

If they do not, we can simply move this post to the Lion Tales thread, as planned by @Tr1x24, and continue to post updates on the pride in the SS thread, as we've always done.
