The Timbavati males were born into the Jacaranda pride in 2003/4. These males were dominant in the Northern parts of Timbavati.  But they also were dominant in Ingwelala/Umbabat and Ntsiri.  These cubs, in fact, are from the Machaton pride and were sired by the Timbavati males.

Thank you.  Are the cubs in the picture the Machaton Males.  Is their natal pride extinct?
Possibly. Unfortunately, I can’t confirm if these cubs are the Machaton males. Yes, Machaton pride extincted a couple of years ago.

The older young male was born in 2016 more or less. Same age as the Birmingham young male. The other 6 were born in late 2017 to early 2018

Its crazy how BYM has a much more developed mane than the oldest Birmingham breakway male, despite them having the same age.

One of the young Blackdam Male #wildlife photographic #safari a few days ago here at @royalmalewane in South Africa.

Last night the 4 boys managed to kill a #buffalo, and were found this afternoon busy feeding on the carcass.
