"The Sand River pride has taken full advantage of the territorial void left behind by the Eyrefield pride. We’re starting to enjoy more regular sightings of these lions (4 lionesses and 5 cubs) in the southern parts of the Reserve - well within the safety of Southern Avoca male territory."

Wasn't it 4 lionesses and one female sub-adult? Wonder if someone died

Yes, female who was nomadic with their 2 brothers, 2 young Sand River males, returned to the pride..
But still quite a shame that only 4 of 8/9 subadults survived, of which we know about..

There was only that one female sub-adult, and she is an Avoca daughter, yes. We both know that there was never a lone sub-adult male, but rather she was a lioness.

There's no lone, surviving, sub-adult male from the Avocas in the Sand River Pride. Only that one female survived out of her litter and she is now much older, a sub-adult, no longer a cub.
She's included with the other 3 lionesses, plus the 5 cubs. Another female gave birth recently, but it seems she most likely lost her litter, because she was seen hanging out with the Avocas more often lately. I think this was the Mantimahle daughter. She might be going into heat again before too long....

BIrminghams started to move further down Londolozi and Mala Mala in mid 2017. Untill around end of 2017 they firmily took control over central Mala Mala and southern Londolozi. In the mean time they also killed cubs in Kambula pride sired by Majingilanes. Birminghams started to mate with Kambula females in early 2018, around same time Majingilanes passed away.
the kambulas was with matshapiri males untill the demise of one of the males. the majingalanes never sired any cubs with their daughters. they were solely with othawa and magheni's.

Its hard to see the gender, as quality is not great, i taught it was a male..but it looks like he/she is missing, as MalaMala said 5 cubs..
