There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Over in Savanna

The Mhangenis I believe, a lioness with two cubs and one older cub

Sounds like they had an interaction with some other lions, maybe the plains camp males? She describes two adolescent male lions

this is the only pic of one of the males

I think those are Othawa subadults, and this one on the picture is Junior, and neither of PC (As we can see they are far from that area) or NK/Styx young males.

Wow, my bad then.

Very interesting encounter, it didn't took long for Styx/NK to notice that OM is missing.

Also, its good that females showed teeth to young males, protecting the cubs, so that young males see that cubs are not to be mess with and if they want to join them they need to accept the cubs..

Ofc theres still a long way for that to happen , but this is a good first step what these females did, if they submit to the males at the beginning, those cubs will be killed immidiately..

Here is also good that Nk/Styx are inexperienced and not already territorial males, so they still are not sure what to do in these situations.

Does anyone know how many females give birth? Is it 3? Thats also a big factor, more females to mate with, greater chance that those cubs will be spared.

Apparently it was
First litter - last remaining 8 month old cub
Second litter - four cubs (three months old)
third litter - three cubs ( 2 months old)

Although in the links I posted it seems maybe the last litter is down to two cubs, either that or they have a fourth litter
