"Can someone please identify if this is the Dark Mane Avoca? He was hovering around a waterbuck kill with the Talamatis yesterday but he didn’t seem to have a limp and I don’t recall the nick in his right ear.

Also the females were not allowing him into the kill and the young males ran away every time he approached. Any thoughts please?"

Last time we saw Dark Mane was on June 4th when he went to Simbambili and chased a leopard up a tree, wonder if hes got a kill somewhere there, he hasn't been in Djuma since I don't think
Looks like it was Imibi male

So "Lions of Africa" published that Kruger Park actually tried to help young Sparta lioness, that they saved her from flooding back when her mother died and reintroduced her back with hopes that she can join the pride, but ultimatly it didn't work out..

No further info, but it looks like some people actually tried to help..

nice to hear they at least tried something, can't imagine any pride would've accepted her given their cubs/pregnancies

Out of curiosity, how do people know Ginger sired the three othawa subadults? Was he the only male in the area and Hairy Belly was elsewhere?

Hairry belly was also in the arena and as well was seen with Sassy (once at least), althrough he had very hard time back then. He was in very bad condition, barely alive, some even presumed him to be dead while Ginger was in decent shape, he was constantly seen with Sassy and did most of mating and therefore he is presumed to be the father of Sassy's litter.

Because he has opportunity, as that lioness has milk for her little cubs, but usually lioness will chase him away, because he will hurt her with his claws and teeths.
