But that may also be dangerous because the pride will attract other males, with three Monwana males sighted in Manyeleti (I do not know where exactly, though) and Mbiri males in the north sometimes venturing in.

Some more footage of Nzuri of yesterday/today.

Credits to ju_cs2 instagram for the photo attached. Looks like he is in a bit of a 'hiding' modus here

The scene on his lying down and contact calling is very reminiscent, to me, of Big Boy lying down and contact calling. A very sad story, with a tragic ending. I hope Nzuri's story has a better outcome.

I thought the same thing, when he headbutted him. Al (guide who actually named RRM), might be right, RRM is keeping his son around for the added strength. I wish the one son, the one who was the biggest and apparently pops in sometimes, would join them as well, though that is highly unlikely. It would be a repeat of the Notch Coalition.

so "AL" is Alistair....the Manager that if you recall is the husband to the lady that was shot last year.

Tintswalo did indeed give the name. Red Road's mother (White Dot) and Auntie (Bus) and his two female cousins (Blackdot and sister) split as a breakaway from the Birmingham pride.

they Chose to name the The Red Road Pride aftere that road he mentions in the clip. After Red Road gained independence, those same females returned to the Natal pride while our legend boy carried on the name. He's quite an Icon of the region. as the Guest mentioned, one of the most popular and Beloved Lions of the Manyeleti.

I forgot to mention...that 'second son' is not around....i recall Matt mentioning he comes around but I don't think that's ever been substantiated and I feel he was just going of Fans rumors and feelings. I have yet to see a recorded sighting after June of 2024. I remember vividly what his last sighting was....it was about two weeks after he was seen w several scars....as if maybe Daddy had a thing or two with him.

I did not realize he was her husband. He was a great guide, always really excited about the sightings, and had great commentary. I was going to mention how I missed his safari commentary. Their new guides are doing a really good job, as well, but, perhaps, with a little less palpable enthusiasm. I do always appreciate it when lodges give the cats names.

Ah, ok, thank you for clearing that up, my friend. Such a shame we haven't had any sightings of that young male, he was becoming super impressive.

He and his wife own Tintswalo, right, or do they just run it? I do hope she is still recovering as well as possible. Such a blow, to both of them, life altering results for good people, all because of an imbecile's choices.

Fantastic video, RRM and Nharus really seem to 'own' that area around the water, main dam. When they film Red Road it's almost always in that area.

@Tr1x24 indeed interesting that he bonds with his son, is this unusual behavior for a male lion to initiate the bonding with his 4,5 year old son? Really does seem like he treats him differently than other sons in the past.

With help of his son (though it seems the son is still just part of the regular pride, definitely not in a territorial coalition with his father) he could hold off potential enemies for longer. Such as the three Monwana brothers currently in Manyeleti (which RR chased off half a year ago or so).

Three cubs and a lioness, tagged location Pungwe Safari Camp. I assume the footage is recent (it was posted today). This cannot be one of the two Nharu lionesses because these cubs are much younger than the five known cubs in the Nharu pride.

So it could be another Nharu lioness that has given birth, since Pungwe is Nharu/RR territory. Or the location is maybe not so exact so, if it is more southern Manyeleti or near Kruger border, it could also be an Imbali lioness for instance.
