Those front pics a bit far off  I still can see a few patterns tiger-like stripes over his chest and limbs which I can compare with another pic of Balam on the same position, but I will do it with another pic of his right side taken by pckts.

I am gonna leave a single pattern on the center of their bodies circled in red so you guys can compare with his surrounding patterns and spots with ease.

Aju male

Now focusing on the photos above by keeping an eye on that specific rossete with one spot in the middle circled which is already the same on both jags look closely the surrounding rossettes and spots, you'll see both animal's rossettes perfectly matching as well as his front limbs patterns, note their underbellies spots as well.

Now look without the red circle.

I will now include more pics of Aju to compare with the male of pckts photo to make it more clearer.

This is a kinda similar position. Can you see that rossette with one spot in the middle that I previously circled in red?? its there in the center of his body.

Now since you already know they both the same jaguar. Let's now compare him with Balam himself.

On Balam bellow Pay the attention to his six spots outside rossetes circled in red, use it as a base referrence just like the one I showed above.

With no red circle you already can see those spots on Balam's body by yourselves.

And now try to see if it matches to Aju's body.

Balam

Aju

Now on the Left side.

Balam

Aju

Those patterns above don't match at all.

Now regarding the other picture taken by Paulo I already saw he isn't Balam either.

First of all focus on these specific details on Balam.

*This image is copyright of its original author

These pics bellow they look like each other and I get pckts confused them but pay the attention to the ''tiger-like stripes'' of both cats on their right forelimbs, both stripes are placed around the same area however they take ''different directions'' giving away they aren't the same and Balam only got one long tiger stripe on that region whereas the other male ( Aju ) got 3+ very narrow stripes going from his right front limb all the way up his chest which will match and link with the ones on the other side of his right forelimb ( they're the same ). It is clearly possible to see them on pckts pics of him from his front far off.

Paulo photo's male.

Balam.

*This image is copyright of its original author

Also still focusing on the photos above regarding the rest of his body since there's a plant in the front of the middle part of Paulo male's body check their hindquarter patterns they aren't matched either as well as their faces which have already been discussed here so I won't get too in depth on that area.

Now to wrap up grab this photo bellow of Aju and bar his front right forelimb due to the water splashing making it blurred to see in details, check his body patterns and compare to that Paulo's male bar the plant in front and note at least the areas you guys can see it will decently match unlike that of Balam's.

Ajó male

Paulo photo male

Now lets do the same compared to Balam's. Note they won't match at all.

Aju male

Balam.

So the male pckts saw is the same as that male Paulo took photo of, its Aju male.

Too bad I could only get those shots of Balam on his right side, Now if you guys got a better zoomed up pic of Balam on his right side it'd be much better and will make my point even clearer.
The side profile shot is much clearer and it's definitely Aju.
I wonder if Balam was the male we saw dragging the huge Caiman, because he looked even larger than Aju.
Aju is huge btw, much larger than Marley.

@Pckts

Everything you just brought up there I wanted to mention on my explanation post but I didn't because it would be too long and would kinda derail the main point of the post which was showing their differences.

Now since you mentioned I will say now.

First of all I am glad there's another large male in the area and I remember how you said he was really massive.

One more on our ''capture list wish''.

Aju is indeed very large and when I was drawing the red lines to show you guys the differences I noted he got a big chest circumference and now you mention there was an even larger male dragging a caiman carcass... its crazy haha.

@Balam

there are much more males from that area to join that big list.

He dwarfed Hunter and it's safe to assume she's in that 90kg range so Aju must be 130kg +.
Now that I know it was Aju I wonder just how large Balam or Edno would be in comparison.

This male's name reminded me of M02 male of 130kg capture by Panthera that Fernando Tortato told me.

I wonder if M02 is this one bellow, note he got a collar.

By the way in case you guys were wondering the head measurement of that big Pantanal male captured by Leandro in 2002 that was lying above the female, from that video I heard him saying ''37cm long'' on head length. as big as Shaka's head.

PANTANAL: Profiles and updates from the Jaguar ID Project. I've already posted the profiles for Edno and Aju so I'm skipping those.

"We want to shed some light on all the positive news we received last week.

Please remember that the fires in the Porto Jofre region are still burning but we are working as fast as we can to help keep the fire from entering the Meeting of the Waters State Park, home to the worlds largest population of jaguars.

Last week we had an astonishing report of 15 different individuals sighted in the park!
It’s really nice to know everyone is doing well despite the surrounding fires.
Jaguars seen:
Aju
Ãgue
Andy

The Brothers (Borro and Xando)
Capi
Edno
Ibaca
Jaju
Ousado
Ti
Tusk
And two new Individuals that were seen mating!

In times like these we are just getting numb to taking the good with the bad but its a bit daunting seeing this 20km x 3km long line of fire moving across the region and it’s on direct course for the State Park."

PANTANAL: new female registered, southern Pantanal.

"This beautiful female jaguar brought us a lot of luck last week: shortly after encountering her, it rained for the first time in months!

That is why she has been named ‘Amana,’ which means ‘Rain’ in Tupi-Guarani.

Great name for him and he looks massive! Its surprising that such an old, battle scared male has finally made his way to the meeting of the 4 rivers.

@Balam

Exactly, the way he looks and how confident he is, he seems to be ready to take on any challengers who might dare take his territory, weight-wise he is indeed massive and I see he is on his prime, do you see all that mass over his body when he walks?? its means ''heaviness''  Funny

@Balam

Edno is another monster and such a fight to the death would be scary to see, we get why they wouldn't go all out most of the times in those battles.

Its interesting cause sometimes a few of them will even ''set temporary truce'' and spend some time together that was also registered and reported by experts like these males bellow, but later on the competition shall continue.

The competition in that area is very high, a camera Africam-like ( that famous website that broadcasts live 24/7 online the Sabi Sands lodges and other areas in its sorroundings in south Africa ) available in those high densities areas of jaguars such as Porto Jofre or Mamirauá Reserve in Amazon would be interesting to watch live. But I fear poachers could be watching it too so... nevermind.  Grin
