Individuals from Venezuela, I'm not entirely sure which hato/area exactly (likely Hato Piñero):  *This image is copyright of its original author M33, M18, and M70 look huge, and as I said on the Llanos jaguar thread, it's clear these jaguars are very tall at the shoulders compared to other populations that live in more forested environments, to me they have the largest frames of all jaguars and, IMO, before being mass hunted were likely the largest population with comfort. Truly stunning individuals that have been overlooked.

Donal was seen again! Ailton Lara explained how they could not properly get the tranquilizer dart to penetrate him when they tried to capture him last year due to his fire-related injuries (sucks for us because getting his weight would've been nice), but it's great to know he overcame that situation and is doing great now. Panthera is finally releasing more pictures from the camera trapping campaign from January 2021. Hato la Aurora has shared with us two new individuals #49 and #50 recorded in the reserve, and seen last month respectively: Jojoto, he's the son of Aurora female who I posted in December on here. Xingu, this was last October now independent from his mother. He looks huge despite being young (he will be four this year), from the JID they told me he was getting huge, it will be interesting to see how much mass he picks up over the next couple of years.

I'm posting this female's profile named Van Gogh because I noticed something curious, apparently her and her family were seeing feeding on a dead water buffalo when they were spotted. Did she kill the buffalo? If so this would be one of the first registered cases of jaguars hunting feral buffalo in the Pantanal. Another shot of Xingu he is HUGE, imagine his size once he reaches his prime in 3-4 years!
