Once in a while we get a glimpse of young cubs. Watch this video of Patricia and her cub Chula taken on August 20th 2019!

We got a radio call that a mother and cub was seen at the Arrumbada around 12:15pm, when most boats are off the river for their lunch hour. Once we arrived the boat that sighted them said they disappeared into the island. We decided to go around and check to see if they came out on the the other. Once we got there, from a distance we could see two objects swimming across the river. Slowing down and keeping a distance, we were lucky to watch Patricia guide her ~3 month old cub out of the water. Patricia jumped up the bank and into the forest but Chula was too small to make the climb. After a few attempts she found an easy entrance down the bank a bit and was reunited with her mother. How beautiful this experience was!
