Very well could be S Avoca, given he was down that way. I don't think Skorro Jr ventured that far south, but they are the two currently MIA.
Was gonna say it could be anyone but the skull looks in good condition, teeth and other parts haven’t really shown any decay. This could very well be on the more recent side.

You may well be right, those two missing males were just the first to pop into my head, as I have been thinking about them both quite a bit lately. Who else is missing? I can't think of any others who are.

Dzwihala, other S.Avoca, Dreadlocks all males who could’ve died in that area, one of the Nkhulus too, think it’s number 4 who hasn’t been seen for ages, but ye skull seems too fresh for any of them.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, that it is a little fresher than those, the little piece of tendon/grizzle implies that, at least.

Surprised the lionesses didn’t run off again like they did a few weeks ago when they seen these two boys. I imagine PCMs may pay them a visit next time they see Othawas after picking up on other males.

It wouldn't be surprising that Khanya is the dominant at this point, he has shown to be very tough in most of his interactions with others.

He was honestly my first thought. Being the most recent of those mentioned aside from S.Avoca and Tumbela. It could be he vanished and was missing before actually dying, but can't be sure honestly.
Feels like theres no left canine and the right is relatively well preserved, what was S.Avoca's teeth like? Any pics?

If thats fairly fresh skull (idk, it might be not?), based of teeth condition, that was quite old lion.

I do feel like I remember some talk a while ago about him missing a canine, around the time he killed that old bull in Gijima territory, don’t have any photos tho unfortunately.

This pic, shared by @Fenix123 back on December 25, 2024, shows he had both his upper canines, but both were broken off at the tips, and he also had a broken bottom right canine as well. However, while the pic shows both canines, the right canine is broken off in a similar location as the tooth on the skull. He also only had two front upper teeth, same as the skull as well.

Another thing is that Old skulls don't just pop up after a while. If he walks that route regularly, its very unlikely it was already there for a few years.

The canines are way too white and preserved to be from the S.Avoca in my opinion.

My friend, all bones, teeth, etc..., that remain from any creature that dies, and are left in outside and subjected to the elements, always turn very white, and it doesn't take a lot of time to happen. It is a process commonly referred to as "sun bleached".

Agreed, by the size of the canine it would’ve been an adult lion anyways, and as we all know all adult males have stained teeth, these would have been the same before this lion died.

I see, then it could very well be the S.Avoca.
