There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Lions of Sabi Sands

They probably felt unsure about the area with all the other rival males hanging around there. So they only stayed for the mating and then left.

Even we with our birds eye overview, fancy technology and skilled trackers are struggling to keep up with the changing dynamics in the north right now. So just imagine how it must be for the lions themselves without all those knick-knacks and with much more at stake.

Very intrigued to see what happens with them. I said before Sabi Sands could do with another big coalition that can control a large majority. I think it would be beneficial if they held the Manyeleti -Sabi Sands boundary and decided to take either Imbalis or Nharus.

Nkuhumas aren’t completely out the question but they definitely prefer Kambulas the most rn, and that one pregnant Nkuhuma female is most likely holding cubs sired by any Kambula male. Monwanas have already had scuffles with the 5 Birmingham breakaways aswell as both Ross males, so they’re definitely not shy. If the other 2 join them, in a few months I don’t think any coalition would be able to overpower them.

Hi when you say other two join them? Are you talking about the white Birmingham male lion and his brother?

I know these creatures are constantly surprising us, but his behavior and condition has been not great for some time now.  The airport beating he took as minor as it was, truly seemed to be the start of this.

Some interesting things on MalaMala's December report.

- Nkuhlu officially stated to be down to 5;

- 2/5 Kambula females back in heat now that older cubs are around 2yo. One is heavily pregnant and the other one was mating with the bigger Ndhzenga;

- Styx male and K12 walked into the 4 Kambula males in Southern MalaMala, Kambulas chased the Styx male off but socialized with their sister for a while before eventually they split up again.

@Friarfan619 did this Mantimahle always had a broken canine?

I remember him days ago with an injury back when the video of Eorenji roaring in the north came out, but idk if it's the same as from this photo, I remember only one bigger injury instead of multiple smaller ones.

These Mantimahle from time to time show up with facial scars, maybe they fight more seriously for mating rights than other males.
