They had a quick scuffle with young Avoca male, prolly their half brother, after he went into Monwana territory back when Mapoza was still around and tried to feed on a kill. They actually seemed more aggressive than Mapoza in that clip from what I remember, and ye helped send him packing.
The other altercation was with the young Birmingham male born in 2020 referred to as ‘Nephew’ by some, ended up taking over the Birmingham breakaway pride from both Ross males and is believed to have sired atleast 1 of the 2 new litters. Monwana boys chased him after getting ousted by BDMs, and spent some time with Birmingham breakaway lionesses, a few of them mated but they never stuck around.

I think it just means they see the Othawas more as youngsters from a rival pride. Probably becouse the pride avoids them and isn't seriously interested in mating yet.
If things really were serious between the Othawas and the PCmales afteral, we would have more sightings of them together.
I also dont put much stakes in claims of pregnancy.
So its more likely the cubs never existed rather than lost.

Correct me if I am mistaken haven't Makhunga been sighted with them being chill and mated with one or both of the Othawa Female? Seems like the smaller PCM did not get his share in the mating with the Othatwa's.
Also sightings with the Othawa Females is not frequent as their territory is not visited frequently as also PCM having their favorite pride Ximunghwe they would always be with them and not the Othawa but cannot remember when was the last time we have a sighting of PCM with the Mangheni Pride.
I seriously doubt the PCM can raise any cubs with Othawa or Tsalala. Their other pride is completely abandoned and might end up losing the remaining cubs.
They are only doing a good job with Ximhungwe, but Ximhungwe is a small pride, if something happens to the 2 cubs the PCM may end up having only the 2 NK Breakaways as a legacy.

The PCM's just irritate me sometimes. They are such a tough duo to understand. They seem so human at times. They want everything, but don't want to put in the work.
The curious part of this to me, or the worrying. Only 1/2 Othawa girls. Has the other been seen?

PCMs are in a complicated situation, they have all these females in the West and yet can’t protect all of them, which is partly down to their territory being too big, or the constant nomadic activity going on over there, and obviously that’s not including just the natural dangers to all lions. Dangers such as elephant stampedes and so on which already claimed the life of the male Ximhungwe cub.
Bigger PCM has been very protective of the Othawas, even chasing off the Mhangenis, I wouldn’t necessarily say he’s partly to blame just cos his brother hasn’t had many interactions with them. He was just being greedy, same as any other male lion would.
I was actually thinking about the Othawas yesterday funnily enough, wanting them to move into Londolozi or that Singita / EP boundary. Just a place they can come into contact with other male lions that they could actually rely on in the future. PCMs clearly aren’t on the same page about them.

They were spotted at Singita too, prolly after this. Look on the skinner side so must be tracking buffalo.
Seems like the buffalo drought is there in the North it has been some time that I saw a buffalo cross from Djuma to the Western Properties (Arathusa, EP, Simbambili, Silvan) or vise versa, almost all the buffalo herd is avoiding crossing Djuma as the 4 of the dams there is quite low, the Gowrie Dam (Dam Cam) would be even called a mud wallow right now, this start of the year only 2 buffalo bull pop and in Djuma (Buffelshoek Dam) the buffalo herds are in Torchwood and Buffelshoek Area as there are plenty big dams with water over that side.
But having heard that the Manyeleti River is flowing it would be a good sign if it still continues to rain in the North as Dams in Djuma is on the lower side.
