Maybe the Menghenis know something about Skorro Jr that us humans dont?
Maybe he fathered a cub or 2 while the cameras werent filming? We cant act like this isnt possible. Why on Gods earth would they let a stranger near their cubs? Maybe PC Boys and Tumbella are fathers?
They dont want him around. They just arent in a position to chase him off or keep abandoning kills to him. The cubs are already to big to be nursed so they too have to risk it.
That corpse is a bit too mangled up to make any identifications of even that kind.
I think including the remains found earlier and assuming those are the same being dragged by the hyena above , Only 1 adult and 9 cubs are currently accounted for.
Most likely the others are still alive. Its difficult to take down multiple lions during a full chase.

Two confirmed deaths (Manghenis) and only 1 lioness and 8 Subs/Cubs are accounted for.

Two adults remain MIA
I hope we get some clarity. As I mentioned earlier, I cannot say how Khanya would respond in such a situation, but we have seen NYM do the very same thing in previous incidents. Perhaps, there is some truth to the old saying, that association brings on simulation, even in the lion's world. The report saying Skorro Jr was running WITH the Mangheni, that sounds much more in line with how I picture this incident having played out, as well. He never once behaved in a threatening manner towards any member of that pride, and he has been laying amongst them for going on a couple of weeks now. This whole thing is just heartbreaking. Have the Mangheni not been through enough?
Man when it rains it pours for the Mangheni pride. The PCMs are simply doing what their instincts drive them to do but it's a real bummer that things have turned out like this. The PCMs and Manghenis have been doing so well as a pride that it looked like the Mangheni lionesses would finally enjoy the stability they have needed for so long. We'll just have to wait and see if the PCMs ever come back to Mangheni territory.
I think what most likely happened is that the presence of Nym, Khanya and Tumbella spooked the pride to move east and eventually in the borderlands between them and the Kambulas, where the two groups eventually clashed.
There was no direct involvement from the males.
Which then after spooking the pride were free to move further west. Perhaps even completely unaware they were close to the pride.

It was prob clash between Mhangenis and Kambulas, possibly with Ndhzengas involved aswell.
That makes a lot more sense than any of the narratives to this point, and fits perfectly with what was originally said, which is that it was a clash between Kambulas and Manghenis. Of course the Nwas being involved fits right into that same narrative perfectly, a lot more than anything else that has been said. As I said, I really hope we get some clarity, so people can stop blaming this lion, or that lion. It is, after all, lions we are talking about, such things happen when you follow these creatures, so blaming any particular cat is not helpful at the moment.

Of course, we are free to speculate all we like, after all that is what happens when following something as dynamic as wild creatures. But, until someone can show me a video of the Mangheni being "spooked" by Skorro Jr, or even in the slightest bit uneasy, then I am not buying it. He has literally been filmed sleeping amongst them, eating with them, and they seemed totally at ease with his presence. They even allowed the cubs to eat right beside him, and the two adults who were present, and they were not even watching him closely. To be honest, I have not even seen a video that shows him being with NYM and Khanya, except for a collage video of clips that showed all three individually. I don't know if those two are involved at all, or not, but even if they were, I do not believe Tumbela was working with them, if anything he was running from them, as has also been reported. What is being said about this being a clash between Manghenis and Kambulas, which was the original report that started it all to begin with, is the one that makes the most sense, especially with NYM and Khanya having been seen in WS on the same day this occurred. Did they spook the Mangheni, causing them to move into Kambula territory, who knows, but if they did, as you stated, it was likely unintentional.
