There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. That periode of time was even more filled with hybris than today. Terrible perspective on animals from a human point of view. Sure, you can assess the scale of animals pretty good by watching such photos but I cant stop feeling ashamed every time I see relicts of the past like that! We´re a fucked up species. And the sad thing is, although many efforts are being made for enviromental protection, despite all the obvious signs, we didn´t learn a lot from the past.

What do you mean "hybris?"
If you mean "hybrids" that is not true at all.
That time there where no man made fences and corridors where open to roam. The gene pool was much more diverse back then compared to now.
Also, look how much better we are as a species. Animals are now protected and their #'s are growing. Poaching still exists but it does in a much less dramatic way, poachers are prosecuted and illegal trade is strictly in the black market. Animals that are/where put on the endangered species list are making great comebacks from the brinks of extinction. While humans still do horrible things, we are slowly changing and its showing. Change doesn't happen over night, but you can see it happening. Just look at the 400,000 person march in NYC the past two days, all for the sake of saving the environment.
Impressive cat's, but i gotta say I hate to watch pictures like this, this is why there are so few left in The wild, and that it's still legal to hunt Lions and leopards like this some place's in Africa is so horrible...
but we can't change The past anyway, so now we can admire their size and Looks. and rather shoot The The right way, with a camera!
