There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Very interesting section of the Wildfact. Museum of ignorance and madness. All the information, photos and videos that were published here are accounts of singular histories, many of them extremely disturbing, from a time when the man-animal relationship was based on domination and control and usufruct. I made many reflections seeing this "lost world", this past that we often want to forget ... but that we must understand that everything has its time and many facts here shown and narrated are products of this time, and so we should not impose our current visions on people who have used and abused wildlife. It is a generalist picture of what we have done, of what we produce; and an eternal reminder given to present and future generations to do and act differently towards nonconflicted paths, where tolerance and respect are present today and always, for the formation of new mentalities capable of thinking and understanding that we are all intimately interconnected, we are all interdependent.

Many people tend to separate conservation issues from ethics and animal welfare issues, which in many cases are still really necessary, see trophy hunting in remote areas, unable to develop non-consumptive tourism products. However, both issues complement each other and differ in their areas of action, one struggling for the collective and the other for the individual. I have deep respect for organizations such as Born Free / Four Paws / Save the Elephants / WCS / African Parks / Tusk / Peace Parks Foundation - which, along with dozens of others, promote the protection and conservation of our greatest wealth.

Dereck and Beverly Joubert
Is this not the most amazing image? It was taken by Peter Beard in Kenya in the 1960s. It shows just how much we've managed to change the landscape in a few years. This is now an extinct sighting.

That's from the 1960s?! That's so hard to imagine....we'll probably never witness such a thing anymore in the future. Crazy how so much has changed since then....

@tigerluver, this guy was shot from Palamu. He is even bigger than the bachelor of Powalgarh. He has the largest head of any tiger I have ever seen.
