There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Between the past and the present, a picture from six years ago, and a photo from yesterday showing the difference in between that said.
I was not born, except to be a king, in the last clip that was presented, the guides talk about it and say that he behaves despite being an old male lion, as a young lion, doing patrols, determines his territory, and roars Violently for long times.
it's #Matimba HairyBelly.

If looks could kill!!
Throwback in Ngala Private Game Reserve June 2014!
The untidiest lion we’ve ever seen. This is one of the Phelwane males taking a pause from mating with a Skorro lioness to have a snack of zebra. A bit like the lion equivalent of the morning after the night before.
This is the Imposing Shaka Matimba! Well known in the Manyeleti Game Reserve, What a Piercing Eyes!

Old man Hairy Belly and the Othawa pride.

HB is in good shape and keeping up with the pride. Junior and the Mini Gingers are coming along well with the later showing some mane.

It was been a treat to watch Junior and mini Matimbas grown from fluffy cubs to this stage where they are now, soon mini Matimbas will be the size of their mother, i cant believe it will be 2 years soon as they where born..

I have to say that i was not sure that they would make it after Gingers death, but HB doing great job protecting them, and Junior now can contribute in that segment too..
