Steppe mammoth vs Alamosaurus, max vs max (MNHM PW1947/23 vs SMP-VP 1850).
Steppe mammoth is scaled to 450 cm SH and is 14.3 tonnes, while Alamosaurus is scaled to estimated 2.7 meter femur and is 93.3 tonnes. Skeletals by Asier Larramendi and Scott Hartman.

Palaeoloxodon namadicus, Huanghetitan ruyangensis (middle estimate), and Mamenchisaurus sinocanadorum.
Palaeoloxodon is scaled to 500 cm SH and is 22 tonnes, Huanghetitan is scaled to 30 meters TL and is 54 tonnes, and Mamenchisaurus is scaled to 35 meters TL and is 78 tonnes. Skeletals by Asier Larramendi, Randomdinos, and Greg Paul.

Holotypes of Notocolossus (lower estimate) and Supersaurus (UNCUYO-LD 301 vs BYU 9025).
Notocolossus is based on Patagotitan, scaled to 28.4 meters TL, and is ~45 tonnes, while Supersaurus is scaled to 35 meters TL and is ~47.9 tonnes. Skeletals by Randomdinos and Scott Hartman.

Wild Caatinga jaguars male and female.

The adult Caatinga female didn't have neither her name nor weight revealed but the adult male was very famous he is Lampião Caatinga male, weighed 43kg but he unfortunately died by starvation.

The maximum body mass for the giant jaguar from USA (Panthera onca augusta) was of about 227 kg, new sources quote much lesser figures. As far I know, the fossils of Panthera onca mesembrina are no larger than those from P. o. augusta. In this case, I think that a mass of 270 kg is greately exagerated. Even the large skull found in Talara, that some people believed that was from Panthera atrox, was not even close as large as a large skull of modern tiger/lion.

Hi Guate, check the thread Ancient jaguars I posted a new study that touches upon the weights of both prehistoric jaguars in more detail. For augusta the weight given was 190 kg, and mesembrina had a mean value of 231 kg, with a maximum of 243 kg. Reply
