Khanya looks crazy tall next to that vehicle, he must be a similar height to Dark Mane now, even as a young subadult he wasn’t far off him along with his brother. Anyways these boys move around a LOT.

Yeah I noticed that too. He's really tall. NK is bulky but Khanya seems much taller (as in, height from the ground). You can also see it in the video of Khanya vs Southern Black Dam male stand-off.

I remember I read on this forum about a brother Khanya had that was even taller/bigger than him. Is that true? How did the brother (was he also a Dark Mane son?) die?

It was never confirmed he died, but yes he had two brothers, one disappeared when S8 was beginning to form a split in the Talamati Pride, years ago, and the other went missing last December. Both brothers were chased by the Gijima males into Kruger National Park but only Khanya returned. His remains have never been found but Gijimas have always been primary suspects for the disappearance. To answer ur question, his brother Dzwihala / older Talamati, was bigger than him for sure, not so much height wise as they were very similar but he was more robust and just a more complete male. Just imagine Khanya with much more muscle and a more complete mane and voila, that’s his brother. Both brothers are believed to be sired by Dark Mane.
Follow the link to this page and after scrolling down a bit you’ll see a post that contains photos of both brothers together so u can see the size difference.

Thought the exact same thing, just opened IG and seen the story and that was my first reaction. The North was real hot today with all these boys in the area followed by the Mantimahle males making an appearance too. I’d love if EP started doing their reports in this style too.

Been reported that both NK and Khanya made their way into MalaMala from Jaci Sabi House. They prolly headed straight West from Northern parts of Singita and ventured thru most of the North which would explain them being spotted in multiple places.

Updates from Singita:
  • Not far from Boulders Lodge, and in the close proximity of the Sand River, we have been extremely lucky to watch the Tsalala lioness and her three cubs as they frequent the area. They are forever playful while mom is around, then remain out of sight and out of mind when mom is out hunting.
  • The Mhangene Pride have had altercations with other prides and dominant males. Sadly, they now only have seven of their youngsters with them. The Tumbela male continues to live his best life feeding on what the lionesses manage to take down, while the Plains Camp males are preoccupied in other parts of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve.
  • The Plains Camp males have been seen mating with one of the Othawa lionesses just north of the river. They create excitement on the cooler mornings when we hear them roar.
  • The Nkuhuma sub-adults are also seen from time to time on the property. They recently stole a kudu bull from the Tsalala lioness who had gone to collect her three cubs and take them to the kill.
  • The Talamati and Nkuhuma male lions have been seen occasionally. Most recently feeding on a buffalo bull they managed to catch in the southern parts of the reserve.

Those boys have certainly had it rough, I hope they make it through these tough times, to become great males. Do you know if the broken leg male was with them?
