Yea, its Styx and Nkuhuma..

Interesting how Kambula youngsters are not affraid of them.

It seems that Mhangenis succesfully chased Nk/Styx away for now.

you think they become a coalition ?

Probably not.

That's just way to many male lions to feed, so it will fall apart really fast to avoid another Mhangeni 12 disaster.
They likely already realized that while feeding on that kill.

I also heard that the Mhangeni are down to 3 cubs now?

Last sighting was 3 cubs, but not all females where there, so its unknown still until we see whole pride together again.

Yeah. It appears now that the original poster deleted the post so they can't show it to me. So it was just a rumour.

Someone asked diff marimane how many cubs are left and he replied " the two", another person saw that then wrote a post on fb saying only two remained which is probably what you saw/heard

This is the last sighting of most of the pride I believe, from 6 days ago, the poster mentions only seeing 2 cubs but its hard to see how many lionesses are present. The mother of the three cubs could be elsewhere

Some interesting information-

So Jadie dobrowky posted that picture of the styx male on the 18th in Umkumbe, after which him and his brother travelled into MalaMala and shared the meal with the Kambula subs (also on the 18th but posted yesterday), and then yesterday (19th) in the comments of the styx male pic she mentions that one of the males is beaten up, she thought it was the styx male at first but its not (so probably Nkuhuma male), she's gonna post pictures of him later today

You can read the comments here https://www.instagram.com/p/CQQr_AUD3dV/

I wonder if the Kambula subs got tired of their older brothers hogging all the food lol

Hm might be,2 older Kambula females where also there so maybe they got tired of young males and some subadult males join them in attack, also maybe Bboys joined up, that carcass was there for long time, its only matter of time when they find it.

Edit: I read her comment, she said not any serious injurues.. It was prob a scrap at the carcass.

Amazing interaction, Styx boy looks to be really feisty one, also 2 or 3 Kambula young males are pretty big, not that much smaller then their much older half brothers NK and Styx.

Cool to see how older Kambula female first went in onto 2 young males who claimed the kill, and in a way giving confidence to subadults to rejoin.

Shame we didn't see what happened after, because of the info that NK male has some injuries..
