RIP Mandevu. A tragic end.. But it was great to follow the story of him and his brothers. Always really enjoyed the different personalities they had; Mandevu indeed leading the coalition and never backing down from a fight, and Ncile, who was the most dominant one of the group before his snare if I remember correctly and had an impressive physique, and Lambile of course, one of the tallest lions I have ever seen, always at the back and behaving more relaxed, but also struggeling with his health.

Very weird and surreal seeing the jawbone and mane of an animal whose life you've followed for years, who's suddenly just gone. Was a bit of a flashback to the Othawa male, though this was more expected. He was in a lot of pain in the last video of him so at least that's over now. And I'll echo the sentiments of others that I hope the hyenas got him after he passed. Don't like to think about the alternative.
Hopefully now new, completely unrelated males will come into the area, stabilise the Mbiri pride and sire a new generation of cubs. I don't doubt Nzuri will be able to find another coalition partner or two, he's a young, impressive male and as long as he doesn't hang about and try to be the new dominant male of the Mbiris I think he'll be okay.

Even tho we only got like 2/3 lions sired by the Tinswalo, that doesn´t mean that their history wasns´t beatiful, it was great seeing Lambile joining them and getting adopted by their cousins, it was incredible seeing Ncila recover from what seemed like a deathly injury, it was great to watch them grow and learn how to be dominant males after they just basicly jump the nomad stage of their lifes and with so much adversity against them, sadly not all historys end in a positive way so to speak, but they dont always need to do.
As already stated the Nharus/Tumbelas started by being 5 males , the Tinswalo 2 + Lambile ( I dont know if the 4th male was also their sibling), all these 8/9 males sired by the same duo coalition (whom also had nothing close to an easy life) had such a short amount of time in these world but yet for years to come we can´t talk about the regions they were in without mentioning their names, and that for me it´s what makes a legendary lion.

RIP Mandevu. I didn't know you as well as many others, but at least you went out the way you should go out... a warrior.
Very sad about Mandevu, I have been following lions since less than a year, but Mandevu was a very recognizable male thanks to the history shared with his brothers and legendary fathers.
I'm wishing now times of stability and fertility for Mbiri pride and Nzuri to become a dominant male in other areas.

The fact he actually got away alive and wasn’t killed instantly is amazing! Shows what a strong character he was. Reminds me of DM Avoca, impressed they made it thru but still had to go in the end due to extreme injuries . I would’ve hated of he was alive in pain for a few more days.
Hopefully we see Nzuri soon.

I believe that it is the Mbiri Males that have done the injuries to Mandevu and the reason is Mandevu was found and sighted injured at Ngala on February 24 and seemingly he have been attacked twice by the Mbiri Males as you can see on the first sighting of him with injuries. Others concluded with the Mongawane Males as Mandevu and Nzuri was seen in Orpen with some lioness but I highly doubt it is the Mongwane Males as they are based in Orpen and not in Ngala.
You can see that his injury on the eye have been drying on Feb 24 unlike the latest update the came from the Tintswalo Youtube channel it seems made fresh as you can see the flesh. It is also unlikely for the footage in the virtual safari to be older than Feb 24 as it would seem like Mandevu walk back to Ngala and back again in Manyeleti.
Or maybe the 1st fighting happened with the Mongawane Males in Orpen injuring him and made him run to Ngala then was found by guest on Feb 24 and after Feb 24 he was found by the Mbiri Males and the rest is history or maybe its just the Mbiri Males and he have been attacked twice by them.
