Lions of Manyeleti

Would he really flee to Ngala after a fight in Orpen?

It'd make sense for him to venture from Manyeleti to Ngala though, as it is what the Mbiri pride is constantly doing since mating with Mbiri males, as noticed and shown in the Virtual Safaris.

He could have followed the pride there, which resulted in the clash with Mbiris.

Mongawane were never seen in Ngala, I think we just thought it could have been them because previously Mandevu and Nzuri were seen in Orpen with 2 females believed to be from the Skorro pride.

Since abandoning the core pride which has territory in Kruger/Orpen and H7, central and southern Ngala became the core territory of the Mbiri males with the Mabotlel pride ( according to Ngala themselves ).

Mongawane were filmed and photographed on Orpen 3 days after Mandevu was found injured, up close frontal pic of Osindile doesn't show a single scratch, vid of him walking past the camera also shows no signs of a fight.

Mbiris were photographed and filmed on Ngala a day before Mandevu was found injured, and they had a few scratches with equally recent dried blood. Many on facebook also claimed/asked about Scar's slightly limp on one of his forelimbs ( noticed in the vids ), though I wasn't sure I could see it, maybe something very slightly, idk.

Mandevu and Nzuri were with Skorro females in Orpen on Feb 16, Mbiris with minor injuries in Ngala Feb 23, Mandevu found injured in Ngala Feb 24, Mongawane in Orpen, Osindile without a single scratch on Feb 27.

Much more unlikely that Mandevu's fight was in Feb 16 in Orpen.

I agree with Mapokser.

Moreover, Osindile (YBM) is the male with a serius limp right? 1 of 2 Mongawanes? It's very difficult for me to imagine that handicaped male causing so serious damage to Mandevu, even in a 2 v/s 1 fight.

That limp is not as serious as it was when he was younger, he would have no problem fighting even 1 on 1 and holding his own, nvm 2 vs 1.

I came to say the same thing that @KM600 just said. His limp is barely noticeable these days, but even when he had a worse limp, back when he first left the Birmingham Pride, there was a video of him catching an impala. So, by the time he left his natal pride, it didn't seem to affect him very much.

Back leg limp would be more handicap in a run/chase scenarios, in a straight fight, its prob negligible (and he is a big and powerful lion).

Ok! Thanks for the info.

I thought it was a more severe limp than what you tell, I didn't know the details.

In the latest video clips, Osindile (BYM) is barely limping when walking. It's hard to notice his limping without knowing that his hind leg was once injured before.

Dunno how confident and/or strong Osindile is, although certainly enough to be a normal dominant male that probably competed with Tintswalos 2v2, prime males without limps or health issues.

But it is worth mentioning that some males from the past with similar/worse limps were shown to be very strong like the bigger Kruger male ( Limper ) or the last Nharu male Skorokoro.

So even with the limp, Osindile might be a very strong and confident dominant male, or if he isn't, it might be unrelated to the limp, we don't know much about the Mongawane currently as we don't get many sightings of them.

Both him and the Torchwood male seem to enjoy their alone time, I remember back when Mbiris were spotted with Skorro Pride or atleast in the area, it was normally both of them together whereas Mongawanes were normally spotted seperately with Torchwood being the most commonly found. Neither of them seem to lack confidence in that aspect which I’d guess is confidence that their partner is close by just incase anything goes down, but more so confidence in themselves.

Torchwood male especially has looked like a badass ever since he was a youngster and doesn’t give me the impression he’d accept a significantly weaker partner, and with Osindile’s natural size too, he is most likely one of the stronger dominant males around the area.

@KM600 agree with you my friend. Before they were a coalition, it was mentioned in the videos that Osindile and Torchwood were chasing each other and had some quarrels for about a month or two.

Nharu cubs playing in the rainy grass and forest, posted on February 22. I count 4 cubs in this video. Before there were 5, so 1 may have disappeared (or is just not in this video).

Sad to think there’s a chance he didn’t leave behind any offspring, such an impressive male. Always gave the look of “I’m not messing around, try me.”

The image of that lioness saying "Let's pull over for a bit, let the kids play, there's a nice little playground right over here.", popped into my head while watching this.
