There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Jack in trouble?

An exciting week comes to an end at the Addo National Park and everyone’s favorite golden boy Jack has made a lot of people worried about him four days ago. What had happened?

Last Wednesday the two big males Witwarm and Niklaas were spotted at Domkrag pushing deep into Jacks territory. They seemed to be on a clear mission till they finally lay down close to the Nyathi fence. The very same area Jack was spotted a day before. He spends a lot of time at the fence calling to the lionesses on the other side. In the absence of own company he clearly shows interest to interact with the lions, sadly unable to reach them.

A few nervous hours passed by till Witwarm and Niklaas luckily decided to head back south Zuurkop to their lionesses. Although Jack is a very huge male at the young age of 4 years he wouldn’t be able to take on two adult male lions in their prime.

With the situation calmed down again now and Jacks constant visits at the Nyathi fence we can only hope that his loneliness will come to an end very soon with the introduction of new lionesses for him.

I love it ! They don't want to share a too small meal for them... They are beautiful.

Brotherly love is thrown out the window as two male lion siblings fight over a zebra foal kill near Lake Ndutu, in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The 10 minute stalemate ends with one of the bothers getting the lions share (pardon the pun) of the spoils and limping away to finish what amounts to an hors-devour for an animal his size...

1/2 mighty Spooner males, were marking the scent a bit and explored the area for any potential intruders. Then they went into the bush and slowly made their way to Tshukudu and ' Nthso Drive.
