The Kambulas are literaly playing ding dong ditch prank with other males, and ofcourse sometimes you get caught on that
They pretty much act like nomads because of their indeed intriguing and very unique amazing behavior but also because they couldnt stabilish north. Got ousted twice, by Plains Camp then Mantimahle.
jump scare the other coalitions huh? i can tell u for sure none of the dominant coalitions in Sabi Sands is scared of the Kambulas, every single one of them handled them easily, except for the Nkuhlus who haven't interacted yet.

The " jump scare" was a bad term for what I tried to say, I meant that for the dominant duos, it must me quite nerve wracking hearing out of nowhere 4 big male lions roar in the distance while you have cubs to defend, after you see what their on about, the Kambuas are indeed not scary at all , but the first impression must be like " Oh no 4 big male lions in my territory"
Not that the Kambulas scare anyone who they interacted with at this point

@sunless it's not a negative or pessimistic narrative, but plain reality.

The 2 strongest, more confident males are injured, both caught alone after roaring, trying to be dominant.

Why would anyone think they have a better chance now than weeks, months ago? If they were all back at 100%, with K3 and K5 showing more willingness to be dominant males, it'd be a different story, maybe.

Not to say they are in the territory of the only coalition that outnumbers them, they could never handle 2 PCM, Ndhzenga or Gijima, if 5 Nkuhlu show up in their own territory, they are easily stronger than even the duos the Kambula can't already deal with.

I understand it, makes more sense like that indeed. Afterall 4 big healthy males like them, we all know they have a great potential and can initially get the local males a bit nervous as you say.
Lets see what they are up to in MalaMala this time, more important how will Ndzhenga/Nkuhlu react.

Correct me if i am wrong, but this might be 1st time we see them all roar together, if that was K4 roaring off camera.

Not sure if we can say that Mantimahles ousted them from north, i think they just left, as some of them where doing this same thing for months (mostly K5 with K3/K6), but this time K4 followed them, as he is injured. K6 also got in a scrap so he rejoined aswell.

Isn't it just your reality (negative view) that you know that they won't confront other males when they show up and just be chased and beaten up.

But isn't saying the same thing apply to you as well "Why would anyone (you) think they have no better chance now than weeks, months ago?"

As for K3, he is always showing willingness to be a dominant male might be next to K4 in terms of being dominant not that I can say that for K5 as he is an odd one.

A first for me to see them roar altogether with K5.

I think it might likely to be the Southern Avoca and Kruger Male or maybe the Nkuhuma and Talamati Male that injured K6 as the Mantimahles is not near him and PCM is also at the West and the Ndzenghas is with the Kambula Pride at that time.

wasnt NK016 and Khanya in south at the time K6 got injured, when we saw them in Kruger and after that the Gijimas? Imo its likely to have been Southern Avoca and KM or Mantimhales, but lets not take Ndzhengas out of this, as the Kambulas were moving south K6 could´ve went with them but met Ndzhengas along the way fleeing north again
Its impossible to know for sure
Also I might be confusing with K3 but I would´ve bet we´ve seen K5 roaring in north, guess I was wrong

Yeah my bad have forgotten they have just return back to Sabi Sands (Sabi Sabi) on December 12 as K6 is sighted at December 13 afternoon injured at Elephant Plains. Would not know if K6 followed his brothers on the way down South as he was busy mating with Little Amber at that time.

Well we've seen him on camera roaring in North when he is calling for his brothers when he got separated but not seen on camera roaring with his brothers.

No idea, good thing looks like K4 is moving in that direction.

Looking at his body right now (except his leg injury), it would seem he did not have a life-threatening injury this past month. Really astonished on how wild animals recover from injuries and what a beautiful mane K4 has.

Flesh wounds recovered but seems he was bitten into the bone, that’s why he is walking like that.

I agree is too early. Osindile (BYM) got a similar limp for a while that was worse than K4 but got better with the time, to the point that now you can barely see it.
To be honest, sometimes it looks like that he's not even limping, which could be the same for K4.

Seeing that now Kruger male and S.Avoca are with that NK female, it might be that those 2 got K6.

I dont think Mantimahles got him, as we saw with K4, they wouldnt be so gentle imo.

Also, K6 was mating quite south, while Mantimahles where seen far north.

K5 has such an intimidating look.

In fact, all of them on this picture look focus and alert, they are clearly in unknown area to them.

Maybe letting K5 lead this gruop will benefit them, idk, he looks like "stubborn" lion who wants to do it his way, as he clearly doesnt want to follow K4 and others in the north.

If they are roaring in KK, Nkhulus will must respond, kinda worried for K4 tho, not sure how mobile he is.
