The description of the video said that K6 probably fight Styx Male as per the guide says, but this would be impossible as K6 was in North when this happened and Styx Male is further south of K6 location. Also looking from the injury, it seems like a 2v1 fight.
It would be more plausible if it's the other 3 brothers that have fought Styx Male as the Styx Male roams Umkumbe area and the other 3 is on their way south on that date.
Hi I am trying to understand the post. In the picture is it K6 or the Styxt male lions? It looks like K6. Did Styxt male lions also have injuries?
Yeah, I would bet that K6 was attacked by two males. There is rarely head injuries and rear injuries like this, in a 1v1.

Looking at his body right now (except his leg injury), it would seem he did not have a life-threatening injury this past month. Really astonished on how wild animals recover from injuries and what a beautiful mane K4 has.
Flesh wounds recovered but seems he was bitten into the bone, that’s why he is walking like that.

If true, these boys are my favourite coalition to watch by far... they are so random so out of pocket, one day doing something very logical, the other doing Kambula things
they are not clueless, they know that theres vacant prides, easy territory, and they have atleast double the numbers on every coalition they´ve encounter so far
I can understand that they may not want to be dominant males atleast yet and still prefer to roam around doing what makes them happy
But out of all places from almost Timbavati to Skukuza and beyond do they choose to roar in the single place where theres a larger coalition than them
It´s like going to a 5 star michellin restaurant and start chewing on the decoration roses
My theory is that they like to go around the territory of other coalitions and jump scare them a bit with their numbers only to leave them when they had their fun
The Kambulas are literaly playing ding dong ditch prank with other males, and ofcourse sometimes you get caught on that
I've no idea why they're roaring when we know they won't confront the dominant males when they show up.
At this point in time you'd think that they are aware that if they roar, the dominant males will show up, chase and beat them up.
K4 still limps ( probably is gonna limp for the rest of his life, though I hope not ), K6 have just taken a beating, probably not 100% yet. If Gijima, Nkuhlu or Ndhzenga show up, things won't end well for them, especially if it is the Gijima who likes to take these confrontations physical, if it is Ndhzenga they might be lucky enough to get away with only a chase, like last time.
With Nkuhlu, dunno, but just 4 of them was already enough to initially chase the Gijimas in Gijima territory, before blond Gijima worked a miracle to beat them back, so chances are, the Kambula will have no chance, in fact, if ST is back to 100%, I wouldn't be suprised if he doesn't need many of his brothers to get rid of the Kambulas.

That's a funny way to put it haha I just imagined all 4 of them walking on egg shells and running off like a bunch of toddlers after doing the deed.

Lions are opportunistic, they test the waters and see what it brings.
Its not like these guys are affraid of every single lion or group of lions in the area, they are pretty much on top of hierarcy, only few can match them.
Just because Mantimahles, Ndhzengas and PCMs overmatch them north, doesnt mean they will not try to compete in other area and just "retire" at the age of 6.
Also, they are prob not so familiar with Nkhulus, and their strenght (i am also not so sure how strong Nkhulus are, especially now when ST is injured), so they are testing to see what opportunities are in this area.

What a negative way to start and end your post LOL. It's always these presumptions that I really do not like, it's like you are putting them in a narrative that would not change and they have just a straight road that would always be them doing it, lions are more complex than that even now what Kambulas are doing is complex as how they operate is much more different than other lions would not say that its good for them that they operate that way.

I would say that they are more or less ready again to test the waters as when the Ndzengha chase happened in the North K4 has just started healing his injury and quite a few weeks have gone past that and for K6 you can clearly hear him roaring loudly to the left as he seems okay now and even K4 is roaring and they would not even roar if they themselves think that they are not ready again. Really good for them that they are getting confident again with all the bad luck they had gotten this past month.
Its one thing to talk big, but another to actually fight.
Groups as big as these tend to suffer from the bystander effect.
Together they are pretty confident, but individually each one of them just expects the rest of the group to handle it. So if one of their rivals actually shows up to answer their challenge.
Its more a question of which one of them flees first rather than attacks. Then the rest flees with him.
Sometimes one of them makes an attempt to attack or stay behind to fight. But with most of them fleeing, they lose the advantage in numbers and the brave one gets mauled and learns not to do that again.
