There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.
"It was an afternoon in the northern Serengeti, near Lamai Serengeti, and we spotted a leopard that was hunting a jackal. We watched as the leopard stalked the jackal but, luckily for the jackal, it spotted the leopard and started barking. This warned everyone to the fact that the leopard was around and that was the end of the hunt for the leopard.
We then watched as the leopard started moving toward the where we knew there was a pride of lions. The wind was not blowing toward the leopard, which it could have warned him, but it was lucky for the lions who were laying low in wait for the leopard.
Before we knew it, the leopard got too close to the hiding lions, and they took it completely by surprise, and launched an attack on the leopard. The pride was made up of ten lions, including two big males. We could not believe our eyes as all the lions started attacking the leopard, working as a team.
The leopard was not going down without a fight though and we watched enthralled, a fight that lasted more than three hours, without pause.
As they were fighting the leopard showed incredible strength, and was eventually smart enough to lead the lions toward thicker vegetation cover along the dry river bed, which allowed him to eventually escape and saved him to see another day. He was a beautiful big male and we were all relieved to see him get away."
