Here is an account of a hunter that witnessed a wild boar kill a tiger. Then he killed them both.

Looks like sensationalism from the 1800s

A Boar sees it's most feared predator, said predator roars and the boar doesnt seem to mind?
When has a Tiger ever roared before an attack that any of us has seen, its stories like these which discredit a lot of good hunters accounts unfortunately.

Too much "Hollywood" for me too. That circling around etc... and too much details about everything. Problem with old stories tend to be it, that they are made up more or less. There are some good ones, which describe same kind of things, which can be seen nowadays on video clips. Some are like descriptions of boxing fights, people are just changed to some animals.

I simply can´t take this story by James Inglis seriously.

That book of Inglis can be found here:

After finding that book and looking closer this man, Inglis, difficult to say. Might be that he just put some color on event he has witnessed after all. Looks like it, that have to look closer that book and what else he writes and how.

well, like Peter said on post # 907, there are reliable reports of wild boars that killed tigers in India:

"The are numerous reliable reports about tigers killed by wild boars in India, where they can reach 350 pounds (158,76 kg.) at times"

so a wild boar could and have killed tigers before. Problem is Pckts wont believe any account of a tiger being killed/defeated by a wild boar. That account above could be true, you dont know that, tigers get killed in the wild also by their prey, accidents happen, its not the norm right. Also, some wild boars in the Russian far east have been known to reach 750 lbs, not a small adversary i would say.

Check this news out, i dont know how accurate it is, but a wild boar hunter in Russia supposedly killed and weighted an 1179 lb boar. If its true, it was the heaviest wild boar in history:

Typical photo from hunter made to exaggerate size of killed animal. Impossible to know how big that wild boar is in reality when only photos are like that. I guess, that there is no reliable data concerning this, just what this hunter say and no-one else. Looks like typical hoax if that is all. This case has been published in some Russian articles, but none seem to have good information, just repeating same.

Don't spread nonsense, I've already said a Russian Boar would be more capable than an Indian boar and I'm specifically discussing certain accounts not making sweeping generalizations, so i suggest you do the same.

What i find abous this case:
1. This boar not from far east Russia, hunter killed him in Sverdlovsk Oblast and this is European part of country
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sverdlovsk_Oblast
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nizhniye_Sergi
2. Hunter said that boar near 2 m in shoulders but i have some doubts. If that true boar should be higher than can nearby in photo. You can imagine it? I cant. This car Niva at maximum can be 1.7 m. Btw animal still impressive.
3. About weight: hunter didn’t say where, who and how weighed the animal. Only about the problems how to do it.

Epic standoff between a male leopard and a crocodile. The leopard notices a carcass in the water and tries to scavenge only for the crocodile to fend him off. The leopard is quite confident though and tries to scavenge multiple times.

Hey all. Contrary to most of your opinions that there was some human involved in the killing of this young male lion,I still think that the hyena did the killing. The carcass was very fresh that morning and there was some signs that it was a big battle before the lion died. The killing had taken places few meters from where I found the hyena feeding. What looks like a piece of cloth on the head was actually a lose skin from the lion as the hyenas rolled and overturned the carcass as they fed. The hyenas were also fighting against themselves as there was several clans involved. Actually one hyena had a gps collar.
