the eastern gomo males ?

It’s a captured male lion. From a Zoo or something like that. Not a Gomondwane male and neither a wild lion

they've lost a lot of mane, it's been a while since there's been information about the other 3, the last one I remember being seen was the male with a leg problem that accompanied these two sometimes, i hope they are still alive and it's just another case of low sightings due to traffic difficulties.

Because of season, if you take a closer look, majority of males currently have smaller manes then usual, because its far into summer there.

Picture from October are from the end of winter season.

Lion manes do get affected by season (temperature), this is proven fact.

Could you show any reliable source proving it as a fact?

Just google it yourself.

Here is one of the links for example which talks about this topic:

https://www.fieldmuseum.org/blog/lion-ma...ed-climate

Did you ever own a cat or a dog? Why do they shed in summer, and dont shed and have fuller coat in winter? I wonder why is that.

All animals with coat shed because of season and temperature changes, and lions are no exception.

This is common knowledge.

And if you dont believe, just compare lion manes at the beginning of summer months in Kruger and at the end of summer, on almost ( there are some who dont get affected as much, usually males who have biggest manes overall, so even if they lose some mane, its not that noticable) all males its noticable difference in mane size, because they shed manes during summer, reason is that shedding is a way to cool body temperature when its hot.

But obiviously, this is not the only factor why lion lose mane, stress, nutrition, disease etc. also play a role.

But season changes definetly affect manes aswell.

Trichardt males were impressive though,  now they look like young males. Must be stress also, being chased by Satara males whenever they felt like it must stress them out
