There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

From Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve, 16 Nov. '17:
"Last night we watched a pack of wild dogs as they came across an injured baboon. They investigated and left shortly afterwards. They also had an interaction with a herd of wildebeest chasing each other around."

The study shown on post #48 shows that the wild dogs have their greatest success in hunting very fast prey rather than prey that puts up a fight.

Indeed, african wild dogs are not the magical (excellent at everything) hunters that most documentary try to make us believe.
