There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

" Sharing is Caring. Wild dogs dig up a hare and rip it in half while it’s still alive "

James Tyrell: " A red tinge on this African Wild Dog’s head tells of a recent kill.
Bigger packs will often make multiple kills during a single hunt, as splinter units of dogs each being down their respective quarries. "

Jens Cullmann: " ‘Another prey for the pack’
A member of a wild dog pack eats as fast as he can from a baby Eland Antelope killed just minutes before. Elands, like other Antelopes, are constantly alert to danger and have extremely refined senses; however, the young, the old and the sick will always be a relatively easy prey for a pack of hungry wild dogs. . James Tyrell: " Wednesday’s madness. "

James Tyrell: " It’s been a fairly ridiculous couple of weeks when it comes to wild dog viewing.

This photo was the start of the sighting from my previous post.
The pack were just starting to get active towards evening and a hyena had already come sniffing around to see what was what. These two had seen it and the one closest to camera rushed at it to chase it away shortly after this shot was taken. "

Lucien Beaumont: " A very large pack of wild dogs ready on their way for a late afternoon hunt. "

This reminds me old and epic accounts - dated from the first half of the XXth century - of very large pride of African wild dogs hunting in savannah and described as being been the real herbivores' scourge.
