There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Mark Dumbleton: " The African Wild Dog, a master hunter, looks over at fellow members of the pack, always alert and ready for the hunt. "

Beverly Joubert: " A pre-hunt huddle. Painted dogs are highly social animals that rely on the unity of the pack to thrive. A dominant breeding pair usually head up the group, but all members of the pack will rally together when the dogs go on the hunt. For now, this pile of canines are content to take a moment’s respite from their busy lifestyles to bond and regroup. They remain vigilant, however, eyeing any passing opportunities for a meal. "

Jens Cullmann: " ‘Another prey for the pack’ ... A member of a painted dog pack eats some remains of a baby Eland Antelope. Elands, like other Antelopes, are constantly alert to danger and have extremely refined senses; however, the young, the old and the sick will always be a relatively easy prey for a pack of hungry wild dogs. . . James Tyrrell: " And then there were three.

Nature can seem brutal.
These three pups are suddenly all that is left of a litter of 10.
Camera trap footage reveals all ten pups safely at their den at midday, then at 16:00 there were just these three.
We’ll probably never know what happened off camera during those few hours, but whatever it was, we only hope it was quick. "

Kevin Richardson: " I was fortunate enough to be able to spend some quality time with a pack of wild dogs in the Kruger National Park, what seems like a lifetime ago, having been locked down for so long now. African Wild Dogs, Painted Dogs, Painted Wolves or Cape Hunting Dogs as they are also called are highly endangered with no more than 7000 individuals remaining in the wild. Like hyena they are a severely misunderstood species and education is key to elevating their status as well as creating much needed awareness about their plight. My friends at @painteddogconservationinc do an excellent job in raising awareness and much needed funding to help make sure that these incredible carnivores are around for future generations to witness and enjoy. Jens Cullmann: " ‘Wild dog hunt’ You probably have noticed my admiration for wild dogs and their hunting abilities. Besides being extremely social and playful animals, their team work for survival is always impressive. This eland antelope could not escape his fate after chased by a pack. "

" Wild Dog Games ~⁣

⁣The African Wild Dog, my favourite animal in the African Bushveld by far, and Africa's 2nd most endangered carnivore ( after the Ethiopian Wolf ), is the inspiration behind the name of my new Photographic Safari Company.⁣ "

Therefore it is important to focus on the possibilities for success, not on the potential for failure. "
