Gaur Singh, the legendary male of mukki range between 1998 and 2004, and father of Minkur female. A very huge tiger, he specialized in preying on Gaur, hence the name. He was found dead with a throat injury in 2004, the same year that Limping male moved into mukki range. It's unclear whether Gaur Singh's mortal wound was inflicted by a gaur or by his rival. Minh Ha Limping male could have lived even longer. He didn't die a natural death. This was how it ended for him:

Sorry picture is quite blurt early morning (5:48).This tiger is no more becose we saw him last in april 2008 after that we dint see him. He was badly injured by his front left paw it was the same tiger which was hilighted as a trapped tiger found in mukki range.

Konda was one of the biggest tiger at Kanha who could bring down with ease a one ton bison. He was master of a large territory of the reserve and slated to rule for a long time. No other tiger could match Konda's hunting prowess nor his power and strength. In his prime he sired many cubs.

He could have disseminated more of his prime genes had not tragedy befallen upon him. In spite of being the best managed park in India, Kanha National Park is subjected to poaching incidence now an then. This time the victim was Konda who was trapped in a poacher's snare and injured. The snare damaged his paw but not so much that he could not hunt.

In the meantime two males probably sired by him had reached adulthood and separated from their mother, hence were keeping together for some time as young male tigers often do. They hunted together successfully and grew stronger. Konda's presence in the area was not a welcome sign for the pair as he was a strong adversary and could come in their way of carving out their own respective territories. Tigers live a solitary life.

Eventually a territorial fight ensued with Konda alone in against the young but matured pair. The pair could have been no match for Konda but the injury took his toll and he was killed in a fierce fighting that terrified the forest guards in jungle camp nearby.

What is unfortunate is that territorial fights not always lead to the death of the adversary as there is plenty of room to run away before a deadly injury results from the fight. But this could not be as his injured paw must have immobilized him after the exhaustive fight with pair. A magnificent tiger in prime was later discovered as dead. Konda died on 22nd of December 2007.

Some more info on Konda.
Konda was born to Old Mukki male and Kitra Kudri female in 2001.
He took control of the Kisli range in 2004 by killing the "Laxmi's male"

Konda finally died in a territorial battle with the Link 7 brothers (Arjuna and Bhima).

I was the one who asked the question, and its not biased at all. Its from the FB page of Tigers of Kanha and they are the ones who see these tigers daily.
Sorry you don't agree with most others eye witness accounts, but I have far more backing munna's size.

Just out of curiousity, why do you still deny this fact after so many have now backed it?
Or are you just upset because you where intially wrong in your opinion of munnas size?

Anyone can go ahead and create a facebook page and the funny thing is, I know the people you're happily quoting and taking their words as gospel.

No that tiger in the above pic is not one of the Link 7 brothers.
Both the Link 7 brothers died due to territorial fights.

Link 7 female died in November 2011.
So the above tiger could be a male cub from her last litter in 2010.

Since the time I came to know about the Link 7 tigress cub killed by a male tiger, I was very curious to see the male, and here it is... The link7 female with the male that had killed the cub. He is huge fellow, people who had seen the link7 tigress know how huge she is and here in the picture one can see she's looking like a cub in camparasion to the male.

Was munna the one who killed the link 7 tiger brothers?

Munna killed one of the link7 brothers.

Thanks, check out the info on the Tiger/elephant/gaurd incident on the big cat news thread.
Turns out it was two 1.5 year old males defending their territory against a 2.5 year old, and one of the territory holders (1.5 year old) was killed.
I wonder which tiger took on two brothers and killed one, even at a sub adult age, still impressive.

There is no much info on Gaursingh's ancestry. He ruled Mukki range for 6 years from 1998 to 2004.
A very BIG male who loves hunting gaurs, hence he got the name Gaursingh. He targetted mostly the adult gaurs, because these huge and fierce beasts are dangerous to all but the biggest and bravest tigers.
He sired many cubs in Kanha during is reign.
He mated with several females like Minkur, Badi Mada, Kitra Kudri and Heart shape female.
Gaursingh died in 2004 with a throat wound inficted by a gaur.

Star Male (T28) seems to be a very tall tiger.
I think these Ranthambore tigers will break many records in shoulder height.
Just look at the height next to the vehicle.

Some people have said that Ranthambhore has taller tigers, I think most tigers would stack up though. Waghdoh, Raja, Munna etc.. All from different areas and all are very tall.

Romeo was defeated and ran off by T25, correct?

Raja looks to be a tall tiger, but I dont no whether he is as tall as Star male.
When it comes to Waghdoh and Munna, Im pretty sure they are not as tall as Star male.
Ranthambore tigers are similar to Corbett tigers, they are taller and longer.
Madhya pradesh tigers are not that tall or long but very bulky.

T25 entered the territory of Romeo (T6).
The tiger in this video is Star male (T28).
