Name               : P10=Bamera Male=Tala Male=Sashi=New Male
Location           : Bhandavgarh National Park
Year of Birth    : December 2004
Ancestry          : son of b2 and chakradara female
Status              : Live
Sex                   : Male
Species            : panthera tigris tigris

Bamera the son of B2, was considered to be one of the biggest males at Bandhavgarh tourism zone. He is the dominant resident male of the Tala zone, he had constant conflicts with B2 and Bokha. Bamera was responsible for B2's death. At present Bamera is facing problems from younger males in the area. Once the king of the jungles of Bandhavgarh, now he is an old tiger kicked out by his successor, his own son Banvehi male. Right from Panpatha to Tala zone was his territory. Now he is seen in a little corner of his former kingdom. He is a legend, undoubtedly!

Good initiative, Apollo. Where, by the way, is our friend Phantera?

RE: Tiger Directory - Kingtheropod - 04-23-2014

Name : T-25 = Dollar male = Zalim

Location : Ranthambore National Park

Year of Birth : 2008

Ancestry : Son of Jhumroo(T-20) and Lahpur-Nagditigress (T-22), Brother of T-24 and Indala

Status : Live

Sex : Male

Species : panthera tigris tigris

Dollar, as the name given to this male tiger owing to the $ (Dollar) shape on his right flank stripe pattern has really amazed the tiger lovers. The story of Dollar is very interesting and is the most peculiar character in Ranthambore. First of all, his majestic appearance in front of the visitors; and once the reputation goes, he particularly does not enjoy the human presence and chases the vehicles out of rage if he is not in the mood to interact with them.

Preferably, T-25 has marked his territory far in the forest and due to the ferocity with which he tries to usurp the territory of other tigers; is also being called Zalim (in Hindi that means grievous). People have found him chasing the vehicles, growling and ready to attack.

Being typical of the nature of a male tiger, Dollar's behavior and territorial aggression remained consistent but his recent behavior has really amazed everyone. From last year, Dollar has been found with two female cubs who were orphaned last February (2011) when their mother T-5 succumbed to intestinal illness and died in the hilly Kachida region at the northwest corner of the reserve. T-25 surprisingly is not only protecting these cubs but also playing the role of mother to these two. That's quite amazing to the male tiger's nature who otherwise commonly seen as a threat to the cubs. Over the last year, he has turned quite softer too and is hardly 'Zalim' any longer, the name that he acquired a couple of years ago by the observers.

He terrorized many visitors, jeep drivers, mahaouts on countless times. Sita had first two litters from Banka and third one from Charger in which one of the cub had a slight limp in his hind leg and known by the name of Langru. He stay with Charger & Sita and they accepted him even at the age of 4 when such grownup male cubs were drived away by dominant males. Charger and Sita were very compassionate for each other. Charger often share the kills of Sita and in return defends his territory form outsider males. At the age of 16 in year 1996, Charger lost his longtime companion Sita and his real ordeal began after it. Sita’s departure lead to a tragic turning point in life of Charger. He was hungry most of the time and survived through scavenging. He wandered in search of dead animals. Old age made Charger to restrict his movement as new generation of Tigers: B1, B2 & B3 were claiming their dominance in the area. Restricted movement leads to his increased sighting in a particular region of Barua Nala. Charger could not restrict himself long in a limited territory and ventured into Rajbehra and had a conflict with B1 and both face injuries. In June 2000, Charger was engaged in a conflict with strong B2 tiger. In this decisive battle with B2 Tiger, in which B2 wrote the last deciding page of Charger’s grand saga. A week later, Charger was found half dead, lying in a ditch close to Mardari village. To avoid any controversies and danger to villagers, the forest department drove the Charger into a cage and put him inside a chain-link enclosure at Chirhadhar. A veterinary doctor attended his wounds and Charger seemed to improve in health. Since then Charger remained in enclosure. Charger was often seen walking along the fence as he wished to roam independently in to the area once ruled by him. He felt loneliness and uncomfortable in enclosure as he spent most of the time of his life in a royal style by ruling the jungle where he was now reduced to a enclosure. It was ungrateful day of 29th September, 2000, when Charger passed away leaving his name in history. A memorial was made in a place where his body was disposed off and was known by the name of ‘Charger Point’. We can visit Charger’s Point during safari in Magadhi zone (Gate - 2). Charger lived comparatively long life and was exceptional dominant male in Bandhavgarh National Park MEMORIAL OF CHARGER

RE: Tiger Directory - Apollo - 04-24-2014

Name               : B2=Sundar
Location           : Bhandavgarh National Park
Year of Birth    : 1997
Ancestry           : Son of Mohini and grandson of Charger (Charger is the Father and also the Grand father of B2)
Status               : RIP
Sex                   : Male
Species             : panthera tigris tigris

The Fight between father and the son marked the end of the ruling King 'Charger' was the son of the three males of Mohini. The Name of the Crown Prince was B2 called by the locals. They were the male sons of Mohini, the most dominant amongst the three was B2. The Other males B1, and B3 was not so much highlighted. B2 ruled the territory of the charger for a long period, while B1 and B3 satisfied themselves with the region outside the Tala range. B-2 inherited with qualities of Charger more than B1 and B3.

B2 was the most aggressive and more romantic amongst the three. B2 had strong likes and dislikes. He just hates the cacophony most what else would describe his utter intolerance of harsh sounds like those of vehicles and motorbikes. He ruled in Bandhavgarh till year 2009. By year 2010, with introduction of new male, several round of fight took place between B2 and new male and finally he left Bandhavgarh forest. He was not seen since long time and almost remain away from core-zone safari area.

Finally on 20/Nov/2011, villagers near Ghunghuti region (on border of Bandhavgarh) informed forest department officials about sighting of injured tiger. He was seems got injured about 15-days back. Team of Bandhavgarh Park management reached the site and was tranquillized to take him back to Tala range for treatment. It seems due to old age he didn't sustained with tranquillizer dose and on the way to Tala range, B2 died on the way. He seems to have not been fed since many days. It is painful side of tiger's life. Tigers have to struggle alot in their old age and often died either due to starvation or may get killed by human being in attempt to kill cattle or died in territorial conflict.

As far I know, B2 have the record for the greatest longevity for a male wild tiger. 14 years old is great feat for any male tiger, specially with such a hard life.

The only older tigers are two females:
1. Tigress T-115 - Chuchchi: A Nepalese female, she lived about 15.5 years old before been killed by a male in a fight, She was in bad shape already.
2. Machli: The famous "Queen" of Ranthambore. She have over 17 years old right now and still going.

When it comes to longevity in wild male tigers Charger outlived B2, Charger lived for 17 years (1983 - 2000).
Machli the Queen of Ranthambore was considered to be the most photographed wild tiger of all time, she was a great ambassador for wild tigers in India.
I wish her to be honoured with a proper burial site like Charger when she passes away.
