Amazing sighting!

I'm happy to see the seven cubs alive, but one Nzdhenga daughter is missing in the video.

DM behaving very dominant.

According to MalaMala, action went from 0 to 100 in this sighting, I wonder what happened.

I think this is the same sighting where they stole an impala kill from the Mashaba Female Leopard.

I think its not the older lioness but the Ndhzenga daughter that is missing, maybe giving birth or sleeping in other area. Really hard to know as updates in South is not as many as compare to North.

I gotta bump this thread after the new encounter of the Gijima with their neighbors.

How many cubs they have currently? 10 or 11 Msuthu I think, 7 Southern cubs and 7 Styx cubs?

They have almost as many offspring as the Ndhzenga despite being 3 years younger and starting out as a duo instead of a 4 strong coalition.

They also have more than twice as many cubs as the PCM ( PCM only have 11 cubs ). While the PCM lost most of their cubs, Gijima barely did while surrounded by Nkuhlu, Ndhzenga and the Kruger Park, while PCM's territory is fenced everywhere but the east.

Of course a lot can happen until the cubs are mostly independent, but for now, what a job they have done.

My only worry is that LM Gijima is a bit crazy to say the least. I'm actually surprised he has never been caught before, given his personality.

They are dominating the Nkuhlu but if one gets caught, then suddenly the entire legacy they've built would be in danger. LM Gijima not long ago chased Smudge and Snip Tail from the Southern Pride, he tried to charge in blind against the 5 Nkuhlu that one time, this time he was very close to 3 Nkuhlu while his brother was quite far behind... these situations are all very dangerous.

But well, if Blond Gijima wasn't like he is, maybe they wouldn't be where they are now, maybe they wouldn't have attacked the Ndhzenga, maybe they wouldn't have stopped the Nkuhlu in that 4v2, and so on.

This is the chart that @FACR2212 recently made, and posted in the Sabi Sands thread.

I will never forget when they attacked Ubuso, it was quite surprising to me, given how young they looked, attacking a dominant male, in his territory. They earned a reputation that day, and have only reinforced that reputation ever since. They are not two males to be trifled with, that is for sure.

This type of behaviour LM Gijima has in literally the only way to win numerous outnumbered encounters, so is it completely reckless, ofcourse, but it’s also key to him and his brothers survival, as well as their offspring.

I think ppl may be starting to underestimate DM Gijima aswell, he’s not the ‘first on the scene’ but he’s constantly there to back up his brother, that too takes guts as he also knows they’re outnumbered. That is just real loyalty between them, and very similar to what I see in Mbiri duo, or Mr T and Kinky

There’s no doubt in my mind that if LM Gijima was to get caught, his brother would do his all to help him escape, I would put money on majority of the Nkhulus running away if one of their brothers was to get downed.
