There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

2/2 Gijima males near Kruger Gate, I'm not sure if this is the time they were in the same place as Nkuhuma Male and Talamati Male or is it a new sighting

I like these two guys, they are fearsome and relentless, providing care and security to the prides in their territory.

What is the reason this duo is not nearly as popular as the other ones in Sabi Sands? I like them 2nd most after PCM . .

I don't know that they are any less popular, in fact I believe they are a highly respected and admired coalition, on this board, though I cannot speak of elsewhere. At issue, I believe, is that we do not get regular updates on them, like some of the others, though we get more updates on them than, say, some lions in KNP.

The PCmales live closer to all the drama in the north at the moment, if they are not involved themselves. So that probably also skews things a lot.

They are certainly up there with the PCMs, Ndzhengas and Mantimahles in popularity, but as everyone mentioned above, southern SS doesn't get as much regular updates as the rest of the reserve, especially the central and northern sectors.

My guess is a hunting accident, I don't think this was caused by other lions.

LM Gijima, the photographer mentions his ‘calm presence’ which may be true around his prides, but aside from that this guy is a menace. Most reckless guy in Sabi Sands for sure, but he’s still alive and thriving for what it’s worth.

Anyone knows what could have been affecting the DM Gijima? Apparently he has been limping on his backlimbs/at least one of them for a long time now.
