He had to be careful this close to rivals. But its not like there was a price on his head and there is an active takeover going on. This situation already went well in the past few months and could easily have lasted longer. Neither is there any evidence of a fight.

??

NK/Nhenha and PC males are invading and taking his territory for months now.

Watch latest 2 Savanna vlog, PC males are invading and are pursuing Othawas.

Theres nothing he can do anymore, only to die.

Limper was on death door, he died like week after, its not the same.

Was he found in PC territory before disappearing? I think he was the provocative for the fight. Hope he can find a cousin/nephew and come back.

Those were mostly territorial conflicts.

Most of those conflicts were to be expected as the the two rival groups were living closeby and needed to expand their territory to suit their own needs.
Keep in mind that the Ximhungwe pride was a nomadic lioness that lived on Othawa territory, while the PCmales pride is a group of breakaway lionesses that now need their own land aswell. So its not that odd that Skorro and the Othowas had some conflicts.

But its not like they were actively out to hunt down and kill Skorro. Aslong he kept his head low, he would have been fine.

Granted, it would only have lasted till a serious takeover attempt starts. But that could have been months from now, if not years.

Well yea, he beat Nhenha 1 vs 1 and made him retreat, also rangers said there where tracks of Skorro Jr chasing them both around that time, as far as i know, there is no report of Nhenha and NK chasing Skorro Jr.

But anytime that PC males arrived in his territory, he was the one running, PC males look much more confident.

Now will be interesting to see if PC males go for NK and Nhenha aswell and try to claim whole western sector, how will this turn out.

Pride had an encounter with PC boys. Did Skorro Jr. see PC boys as well?

Lot of possibilities now. Like you said, PC boys might go after Nhenha and NK. Or one of the two coalitions might first get to Othawas and hold on for a while. Or Othawas might evade from both coalitions for a while. Pride doesn’t have numbers to do a break away. A very Sad development.

I'm glad he is alive but all cubs will be killed during next 2-3 months. Most likely. Maybe along with adults who will try to protect them.
Ottawa pride has only one fertile adult lioness now and most likely she will become another nomadic one after losing her pride.

Yes... Ottawa pride is doomed.

Seems he was in PC boys’ territory while en route to the present destination.

Territorial males dont keep head low, they either roar and face intruders or become nomads. Theres no such thing that territorial males play hide and seek, they either need to face intruders or they will surrender and leave.

Also, we dont know what where PC males doing exactly, we are not with them every moment, we know that there was another recent encounter where they invaded and had encounter with Othawas, and after that Skorro Jr. laid low and become nomad.

Thats enough evidence that PC males actually oust him, especially as now recently we again see them in western sector pursuing Othawas.

Its not like Skorro Jr abandon them for no reason and become nomad, because idk, he wanted that lol.

So yea, this is clearly a territory takeover, and not a "neighbouring territorial dispute" or anything else, and this is not just now, both PC males and NK/Nhenha are invading and pressuring him for months.

Only one is likely able to rear more cubs.  Junior Mom at 15 is unlikely to have more litters.   The viability of the Othowas future lay on Sassy’s shoulders if these cubs are lost.  Gingerella returning being such one long shot ATM

It's a real shame. Was there a pivotal tipping point that happened between the tumbela male and rival coalitions or was it just sustained pressure?

I cant help but feel that the loss of Limper had a much more significant effect on his psyche than we could suspect.  The Pressure has been there but I think that was a huge tipping point for his confidence

What you're saying makes a lot of sense to me. It is so sad to see him away from his pride.

Again. There is a huge difference between a territorial dispute and a pride take over. In the first its just a argument about land and conflict can be avoided just by accepting territorial losses and staying on your side of the border.
Only in the latter your rivals are directly out to kill you as they are after the pride.

Skorro was only facing the first. And hes been for months now.

Ultimately what a male lion wants is the security of a pride.
Skorro still had that. So its odd that he choose to be nomadic without one.
