Kambula subadults made another buffalo kill at MalaMala, it looks like they are starting to focus mainly on hunting buffaloes, which will be good experience for young males in the future nomadic life:
Styx Pride were seen resting in and around a riverbed over the weekend, shaded by the tall trees, and sheltered from the wind. As the lionesses slept with full bellies from a kill they had finished, the cubs started to get restless, wrestling each other, and exploring. The N'waswishaka males were also seen busy enjoying the morning sun in an open area.

Welp, it was true
"Advantage, Northern Avoca males. ~ The balance of power is shifting away from the Gowrie males as their northern challengers draw first blood! Yes, this contest has seen its first casualty. As is so often the case in these territorial wars it is the cubs who fall first. Lionesses from the Kambula pride had been denning their cubs in the Sand River near West Street Bridge and it is here where we found one of the Northern Avoca males with a cub in its jaws, one of the older litter of 5. We have yet to determine if any more cubs in that litter, or any of the younger litters, have been killed.
As if that wasn’t statement enough, we’ve also started seeing the 3rd Northern Avoca male venture onto MalaMala for the first time."
Edit: LegendSafaris also reporting they found Mohawk with 3 kambula girls today
The info about Dark Mane in Mala Mala, more south than he ever was, was also provided couple days ago by Tristan on WE as well. Although it seemed uncelaer whether he stuck there for longer or returned back north towards Djuma.
The Birmingham males probably will probably just ignore this. But It will be interesting to see how the pride will react to this.
Will they flee south to avoid the Avocas? Or will they start abandoning the Birmingham Boys which are now seriously lacking in their job?

The lionesses which already has cubs and did not mate with Avocas (there is I think just this one with litter of 5) will run in attempt to save her cubs. Others Kambulas will mate mate with both Birminghams and Avocas and latter on will stick to wining coalition which will have control over the arena on which Kambula pride operates. Females do not have any loyalty to the males themself and unless they have cubs to care for they will just stick to dominant in the arena males.
The lionesses probably have the best idea of the health and strength of the lions involved. So them developing a preference for a male coalition to hang out with can perhaps be a indication that that group has the best cards. Hence my curiousity.
And man, that facebook screen is wild. I wonder how they will react to the latest news.

Information are flying all over the place, first that the cubs where killed, then they are not, now that they are..
This would explain why only 4 cubs where seen 2 days ago with Tinyo and Nhenha :

Also we dont know what current state of Tinyo is, as somebody said that latest Londolozi vlog was 1 week ago, in that state i dont think he can fight, which is huge advantage for Avocas if rumors are true that they are making serious moves towards Kambula females..

This post right here perfectly exemplifies why I prefer following the more general groups on Facebook (Lions of Timbavati, Lions of Kurger National Park, Lions of Sabi Sands, etc.) as they tend to be more objective and impartial. The groups that have long-winded titles to them (much like this one about the Bboys) tend to be more problematic.

There seems to be a bit of confusion with the reports. Two days ago Blondie was seen carrying something in his mouth with a distressed lioness, right? That wasn’t the female with five cubs though. And in the Instagram post the guide was asking what was in his mouth so maybe they didn’t get a good look, but later put two and two together.
But now the Mala Mala post says one of the big cubs were definitely killed…. But won’t the big cubs have been in Londolozi two days ago? Also was this a different sighting at the west street bridge or the same one?
