There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

This tiger is from Wsetern Plains Zoo in Australia. Probably sumatran...but he looks rather like mainland tiger to me. What do you think?

To me he seems to have the characteristics of a mainland tiger but his dark facial stripes seem to be sumatran.
Would probably need to see him head on to get a clearer idea.

@Amnon242:

About #368: Perhaps the air in Australia makes this tiger look like mainland tiger. He is rather pretty good but his fur hasn't the orange shade we are used to see with the Sumatran tiger.
