There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Somehow captive jaguars are much more robust than their wild counterparts in general.

I disagree, captive jaguars that I have seen in person normally lack the muscle definition that their wild counterparts have because they don't get as much exercise. These ones are an exception because the sanctuary they are in constantly puts them to the test to build healthy weight. Jaguars, in general, have a robust build with a thick chest and huge jaws.

Here are some examples of four wild Argentinian jaguars for you to compare:

It's not close, the wild Jaguars are far more robust.
I will give Jaguarsintothewild credit though, I've said it before. He does a fantastic job at taking a hands off approach with his cats and giving them a ton of enrichment while never getting them used to humans so one day he can possibly release them back.
All his cats look absolutely fantastic.
