A few more lions to compare below as well...  *This image is copyright of its original author  *This image is copyright of its original author  *This image is copyright of its original author You'll like this one though, flattering angle but still a big fella Camp Xakanaxa in the Moremi Game Reserve - Luxury safari in Botswana Moremi Game Reserve  *This image is copyright of its original author Did a little more research than I was expecting for late 80s early 90s Land Cruisers and their overall height is 72'' (6') or so, the hood height should be a little above half so around the 3'6'' mark is reasonable, land cruiser are already high riding trucks and these trucks don't look especially lifted just a few mods so they can drive through deep water without getting water in the air intake. I think it's a safe guess that hood height is between 3 1/2' to 4' at most, I'd guess most lions would be like the 2 males previously posted with exceptional ones coming close to the hood height.
Some sad, but interesting pictuers of hyenas compared with humans. I know the people are standing behind, but I found some with a cople of hyenas that seemed like big induviduals, and these seemed quite good to compare as they seem placed pretty close to eachother and and also taken from a good angle, (I got that about the angle comfirmed by my friend who is a photagapher haha, as I have no idea myself..)

If the resident dominant male starts to lose his ground - the other tigers are at a grave risk.
